He doesn’t even pause, just picks me up and I wrap myself around him. Then his lips caress mine and it’s like the air is sweeter, the day brighter.

When he lifts his head, his blue eyes sparkle with lust and I know tonight’s gonna be a very good night.

“Anybody want to go stay with your friends tonight?” I giggle, knowing that they’ll all agree.

And tonight when my husband and I come together, the house that we’ve raised our children in will ring out with our screams and cries of ecstasy.

And we’ll love like we always do. Wild and untamed and crazy for each other.

He smiles at me and I see the promise in his eyes and smirk. “I missed you too. I can’t wait for tonight,” I whisper in his ear, watching the kids grab my bags.

He turns to me and there’s so much love and devotion in his eyes that it brings tears rushing into mine. “Every day without you is torture but I love nothing more than welcoming you home and making you remember where you belong. With me. Forever.”

“That’s the only thing that keeps me going every damn day, Cody.” And we walk into the house after our kids, knowing that we’ll never have enough time together. But home is always waiting no matter where we go as long as we have each other.

Home and family. Those are the only words that anyone should live by. Should build their life around.

Home is absolutely the only four-letter word that I hope we teach our children. I grin wryly. Well, that and love.
