We go through three more classes with the same seating arrangements, and she’s still ignoring me. Okay, so now I know how she must have felt because I’m going crazy with her not speaking to me.
It seems as though the only fucking time she listens at all is when I’m fucking her into submission. Just before the last class until lunch, my patience has been worn thin and I march up to her while she’s at her locker getting books.
The hallway is crowded with students and they’re all watching and waiting with baited breaths to see what will happen next. Before she even knows I’m there, I’m spinning her around and slamming my lips down onto hers.
Her taste is what I’ve been craving all morning while she was ignoring me. I instantly hear the whispers and murmuring behind us, but I pay it no mind. All my focus is on my girl and her sweet lips.
I’m doing this to claim her in front of everyone and to also let her know that she’s not my dirty little secret like she’s accused in the past. Now everyone will know who she belongs to.
“Now they know. You’re not my secret and I want everyone to know that you’re mine. Like I said before, you’re everything to me now, baby,” I whisper in her ear before looking down at the dazed and shocked expression on her face. I give her another smack on the lips before walking away with the guys.
We head to the locker room to have a word with Coach and then we all get our gear and everything else ready before we need to leave. After that’s done, I let the guys know that I’m going to speak to Raine before we leave, and they nod.
When I go to her class, she’s not there. I check the cafeteria and a few of the empty classrooms where people hide out in to either ditch class or fuck around in. She’s not anywhere. I’ve already spent five minutes looking for her.
That’s when I remember the library. It’s where she likes to frequent when she doesn’t want to be in class. She’s nowhere in the front when I walk in, so I decide to head to the back and see if she’s there. As I make my way past the many shelves of books, I spot her sitting at one of the tables in this section at the back and head right for her.
“Hey, baby. I just came by to tell you that I’m leaving now for the game. I want you to come with me,” I say, hoping she will, but I already know the answer before she even speaks.
“I can’t,” she snaps at me.
“Why not?” I question.
“Because you’ve had me so fucked up this semester that I’m failing. I have until tomorrow to write a paper for Smith and hand it in so I don’t fail. So, tell me again why I should come to your fucking game!” she snaps at me.
“Fuck!” I grumble and then run my hand through my hair. I forgot about the Smith thing for a minute there. “I would stay with you, but Coach will kill me if I miss the game.”
“Well, I don’t fucking want you to stay. I want you to go away like I’ve been telling you for the past three days!” she snaps at me. I decide to give her some space because she clearly needs it. I’ll be back late tonight anyway after the game, so it’s not like I’ll be gone for long.This not pushing her thing is getting on my nerves.
“Not going to happen! But I have to go. Make sure you text me as soon as you get home, okay?” I demand, and she rolls her eyes at me. She looks like she wants to defy me, but eventually she gives me what I want.
“Yes, I will. Now go!” she tells me. I give her a big smile and then bend down and give her a kiss on her forehead before walking away.
I don’t know why, but there’s an uneasy feeling in the pit of my stomach as I walk away from her. I chalk it up to pregame nerves as I make my way to the parking lot where everyone is waiting for me.
I can’t fucking wait for the game to be over so that I can get back to her as quickly as possible. Football used to be my life, but now I’ve found something so much better. When she finally gives in to me, life will finally be better and make sense again.
Two
RAINE
My eyes are still closed,but I’m conscious again somehow. I’m not sure how long I was passed out for but the first thing I became aware of is that I’m still lying on the hard concrete road, so I must not have been here for very long.
My head is pounding. It feels as though someone is beating my head with a sledgehammer. I know it’s because of the beating I just took from my two assailants.
I’m still pretty much in shock that I was just assaulted and raped right here on the side of the road. But after everything I’ve suffered through since moving to Riverside, did I really expect anything different?
I had that feeling in the pit of my stomach, the one where I knew, or rather felt, like something bad was going to happen, but I ignored it. I thought the worst had happened already.I guess the jokes on me for thinking that…
Tears slide out of my swollen eye and down my cheeks just as I hear the sound of a car door slamming. Feet run in what sounds like my direction. I turn my head to the side and barely manage to open my eyes.
Doing that takes a lot of effort, but I have to. I need to assess the situation. I hear yells and see that yes, the feet are running toward me. An involuntary whimper escapes me because I’m scared.
I try to move and get up, but it’s useless. My body doesn’t want to cooperate. I’m scared because I’m not sure who is running toward me. Are they friends or are they more people who have come to finish off the job?
All those thoughts run through my head as I continue to watch those feet get closer to me. My fear is put to rest a second later, though, when I hear a voice I know. Instant relief washes over me. I know I was scared, but I didn’t realize how much until I recognized her voice.
“Oh my God, Raine! What the fuck happened?” Camryn shrieks as she falls to her knees beside me. I try to respond, but nothing comes out of my mouth. I have no choice but to stay quiet. It’s too difficult for me to even form words right now. I guess she’ll just have to wait for answers since I can barely keep my eyes open.
