"Are you kidding?" he hoots, smiling widely. "This is the happiest I've ever been!"
But I'm surprised when he puts me back down and takes off running and storms the stage again. Madison gladly returns the microphone to him, even though she does look a little taken aback.
"One more thing! I just found out…I'm going to be a dad! We're having a baby!" he shouts, lifting his arms up into the air as he cheers along with everyone.
The crowd goes insane after that. All I can do is laugh at how excited Joshua looks - even more so than I expected him to. And to think…he actually thought he wasn't cut out for all of this marriage and family stuff. I sure did prove him wrong…like I usually do.
Addy is practically jumping up and down, she's so thrilled. There's a moment there when I remember my own reaction when Maria told me she was pregnant, thirteen odd years ago. If only she could be here now...
But there's no time for sad reminiscing. My heart bubbles over with joy and laughter, and I'm not the only one. The applause stretches on for a long time, with all of Bardot's brilliant doctors lined up in the front row.
It's funny to think how each of us got into our line of work for different reasons, but ultimately it was all to heal and save lives. And somehow, in the middle of it all, we each got saved in our own ways…and we found the most healing thing of all.
We all found love.
