More strength fills to me, and I feel assured I can now fill my father’s shoes and be the leader I was raised to be.

Two hours later, I enter the bridal store where my bride-to-be is shopping for her wedding dress. I’m picking Serenity up for a late dinner.
I make my way into the lounge, where she’s standing in front of a long mirror, beaming at the gorgeous mermaid-looking gown she’s wearing. The assistant is looking her over with admiration.
I hang back, admiring, too, as Serenity twirls around in the gown, smiling.
I can’t believe this woman is going to be my wife.
That’s one of the many dresses she’s liked, but she’s waiting for Harper to return in a few weeks’ time before she makes the final choice.
I love her in all of them or nothing at all. The wedding is in six months. If it were up to me, I’d marry her tonight, with her naked body pressed up against me in my bed. But I want to give her the wedding she’s always dreamed of.
Serenity finally sees me standing by the door and gasps.
“Dante, you’re early. You weren’t supposed to see me.” She giggles, and the assistant smiles at us.
“I’ll just pretend I saw nothing.” I hold up my hands and pretend to cover my eyes, making Serenity laugh even more.
“Give me five minutes to get dressed.”
I dip my head and walk back into the foyer.
Minutes later, she skips out in her normal clothes and bounces straight into my arms.
“Hope I didn’t ruin the surprise.” I brush a kiss over her lips.
“Not at all. That was the backup dress.” She laughs.
“I liked it. Come on, the night awaits. I have a lot planned.”
“Like what?”
I slip my arm around her, and we walk out of the store. “I plan to seduce you, so you’ll stay with me for the rest of the week, and the next, and the one after that.”
“Oh, well, it may help to know you won’t have to try that hard. I was already seduced from the moment I saw you.”
Serenity leans into me, and I pull her closer for another kiss.
I can’t get enough of her lips, her taste, her scent,her.
She’s the evidence that sometimes, the villain gets the girl. The girl who can find the way to his heart and breathe life into his soul.
She’s that girl.
