He thrusts in me, raw, unapologetically, so him. We chase the pleasure with our bodies slapping against each other’s. Our eyes lock, the connection between us unbreakable, unshakable, undestroyable. The orgasm builds inside me, and I crash under its force and in sweet delirium. With one final thrust, he comes inside me, dropping on the side next to me. He takes my hand in his and kisses each of my fingers. I lean on my side and caress his chest, kissing his heart and the scars hidden behind my lips.

Who would have thought I would be this crazy for a man, especially him.

“Would you have thought we’d be like this?”

“I knew I wanted you like I never wanted anything more in my life, and then it switched to a need, a need for more. And now I could never leave you or live without you. In all the darkness, you’re my guiding light, the flicker of hope that makes everything worth living.”

I smile at his words, fitting our untypical love story.

He leans into my touch, eyes filled with raw adoration. “I have no fucking clue what I did to deserve you.”

He tucks me to him, and I inhale his rich, manly scent. It’s both an aphrodisiac and my calming antidote.

“We’re going away for our honeymoon. Three weeks, just the two of us.”

“Where?”

“Where would you like to go?”

“Greece.”

I smile, excitement bubbling inside me, and he kisses me. “Then start packing, wife.”

I jump from the bed, and he crosses his hands under his neck, eyeing me.

“Our lives will never be easy, or worry-free, but whenever it gets to be too much, tell me. I’m going to grab you and we’ll be the people we would have been if things were different.”

I climb on top of him. “I love our life, it’s the one we got, but thank you.”

“I know how bad you wanted out.”

I place a finger on his lips and confess, “And I want even more to stay.”

In the living room, Kieran is feeding Aurora. Hayden seems lost in thought, eyes pinned on the empty chair next to him.

“Good morning. We could all hear your lovely reunion,” Cameron says with a grin filled with innuendo.

I shake my head at Cameron. “Sensitive, as always.”

“And it’s your mess with the family rescue. They’re waiting at my house. Good luck.”

I should have warned Cato. He snaps his head at me, cracking his neck. “What does he mean, cara.”

“Well, you see . . .”

“I am all ears.”

“I made a deal with them.”

“You made a deal to save your life?” Cato arches a brow.

I roll my eyes at him and glance at Kieran while he grins at me.On the principle, you brought yourself in this situation, now let’s see how you come out of it. Dick.

“I’m coming with you.” Aurora swiftly moves to my side.

Thank God for friends.
