She knew deep down that if she was scared, he wouldn’t press her for more – just like last time, but obviously he was interested in deepening their relationship… and if she was honest with herself?
Destiny was too.
Sitting down at the laptop, she stared at the lingerie… not sure how to start her email to him. Taking a deep breath, she began to type.

Killian,
I would be honored to meet your family, and really looking forward to seeing you. I hope your sister likes me and it would be nice to have someone close by, if you are overseas.
The seats for the concert are supposed to have a clear view of the stage, even if they are a little higher up. I put all of the packages that you’ve sent aside together in the empty room, so maybe when the time is right? We can select a crib and start assembling things… oh - and I received the lingerie.
It’s beautiful – and I hope you like it on me.
Just be gentle, I might be nervous… but I miss you terribly. I really am growing fond of my ‘mushy husband’ who is trying so hard to make me feel special. You are doing a number on me – and it’s working.

Hours later,she got home from work and collapsed in bed. She was almost asleep when her cell phone rang beside the bed. Grumbling, she rolled over and answered it, praying it wasn’t a telemarketer…
“Hello?”
“You are incredible…” Killian said openly in greeting. “I hope I’m not calling too late or I didn’t wake you, but I got a package in the mail today and just needed to hear your voice.”
“Awww…” she purred, sitting up immediately and smiling. “You liked it?”
“Baby, I love Starburst,” he chuckled happily. “Socks, Gatorade pouches, deodorant… all of it was just perfect. How did you know? I mean, this is great stuff.”
“I cheated and googled what to send someone in a care package,” she admitted, chuckling nervously and flushing at the praise coming from him, combined with the fact that he called her ‘baby’.
“This was spectacular – and I truly appreciate it,” he said openly, and then his voice dropped. “I also got your email and wanted to call you.”
“Yes?”
“I can’t wait to hold you close,” he breathed softly. “And ‘gentle’ is the only way I know how to touch someone when you make love – and that’s exactly what we are going to do.”
“Killian…”
“I might have agreed to a transaction between two consenting adults when this first started… but when I come home?” he paused, his voice gruff with emotion, and she recognized it. “When I come home, I’m making love with my wife in our bed – and I want to see that black lace against your skin. Okay?”
Destiny made a slight noise and nearly dropped the phone as she caught her breath at the intensity of his words.
“I’ll have five days at home… and if it takes five days for you to accept me in your bed, as your husband, then so be it.”
“Just come home,” she breathed – and didn’t recognize her own voice. “I’ll be waiting.”
“For me?” he asked huskily.
“Yes.”
“Oh gosh, Destiny… I wish I was there right now instead of listening to the timer counting down, knowing I’m going to have to say ‘goodbye’ when all I want is to feel you close to me.”
