“Nerds. Where are you going to find that?”
“Oh hush…”
Destiny jerked open the door – causing all five women to jump in alarm.
“Hi,” she smiled. “The DVDs will be at Best Buy.”
“Thank you! Finally! Another nerd… hallelujah! I’m Mary – and you must be Destiny.”
“Step aside… I’m Glory and we are going to be besties. Hugsies!” The woman with pig tails grabbed her and hugged her tightly, before looking over her shoulder. “Hey Ricochet…”
“Hey Killian,” Everly said, waving at her brother and then moving to pull Glory off Destiny, hugging her quickly. “My Destiny, my sweet sister-from-another-mister, literally… Are you ready for some fun with the ladies?”
Destiny looked over her shoulder to see her husband smiling warmly at her, meeting her eyes.
“Have a great time, sweetheart.”
“I love you,” Destiny smiled shyly. “Bye, Killian.”
“Bye, tootsie-wootsie,” Everly taunted, winking at Destiny.
“Bye, Snookems…”
“See ya, Pookie-bear-a-saurus…”
“Muah, muah, muah… bye, poopsie-doodles…”
“Poopsie-doodles? Seriously?”
“Shut up, I couldn’t think of anything.”
“Buh-bye Mrs. Destiny – we’ll take good care of your girlie!”
“Y’all are weird – bye, flyboy!”
Destiny looked over her shoulder as she was dragged down the driveway to two vehicles waiting. Both had smiling women sitting inside, waving their hands happily in greeting from the interior. She saw Killian waving and laughing from the doorway, as there was practically a scuttlebutt of who got to sit next to who in the two minivans.
“Go sit with Harley, Glory…”
“Sophie and Marisol, don’t you two gang up on me…”
“Jessica, aren’t you glad you and Ace came up for this garbage? Sheesh…
“Melody, scooch over and let’s cram Delilah back there, too.”
“Delilah’s pregnant butt is already in a seat,” the woman said flatly, and then smiled at Destiny. “Hey hon, I’m Delilah. It’s nice to meet you.”
“Karen and Emily are in Harley’s van.”
“Karen’s right here…” the woman waved simply.
“Dixie, Melody, Emily, my Abbykins, and Harley are in the other vehicle – so they have room for one more,” Glory announced, pointing at the other women… and Destiny raised a hand silently, waving – and made a beeline for the other van, causing a stir of laughter from everyone near Glory – along with wild cheering from the other van as she opened the door and hopped inside.
“AWWW MANNNN!” Glory whined – and then winked, giving her a thumb’s up, before climbing into the van being driven by a woman in a ponytail, who rolled down her window.
“Thank you, or we would have been here for hours. I’m Ivy Evans, and it’s nice to meet you. Welcome to the madhouse.”
Destiny grinned as the others in the van were talking happily around her, patting her on the shoulder and laughing.
