An hour later, they were still soaking in the tub, laughing at their shriveled fingers and holding up their hands, talking.

“We should probably get out…” she chuckled laughing.

“Nahhhh…” Killian protested, chuckling. “In fact, I was thinking we should probably drain a bit and add more hot water. I’m not moving, but if you want to get out – I will happily watch you.”

“Well, if you aren’t getting out, then I’m not getting out.”

“So it’s settled,” he mocked, laughing once more – yanking the plug as she turned on the water, flinching as the cool rush began before warming up. “Besides,” he began, “soaking in the tub, watching your stomach move, and having you lean against my chest is better than anything I could have ever imagined.”

“Do you remember on our first date,” Destiny whispered softly, looking up at him as he kissed her temple tenderly. “When you were once talking about mirrored ceilings and this bathtub?”

“Yeah,” he chuckled. “I was pretty embarrassed that slipped out of my mouth when I had just met you.”

“I thought, ‘Wow, he’s a perv…,’” she laughed, and saw him throw back his head, laughing openly. “And then I thought, ‘Oh, he wants to fool around in the bathtub’…”

“But sometimes fantasy is better than real life,” Killian grinned. “I never even imagined how slippery the tub would be – and I was absolutely thinking about fooling around with you.”

“I knew it,” she quipped, smiling up at him.

“Uh hello?” he mocked, plastering this innocent look on his face. “I’m a poor boy who had this gorgeous woman after me, asking me to get her pregnant and marry her… pregnancy meant a whole of sexy-time in bed, between those thighs that I already couldn’t stop looking at – so yeah. I was completely thinking of us together.”

“Really?” she preened softly, feeling the baby kick and watching his eyes narrow in on the motion immediately before they softened.

“Seeing your body like this, knowing I helped make our daughter, oh yeah. I thought about all sorts of different ways to take you… and barely touched on the depths of my depravity, just to keep from shocking you.”

Destiny laughed aloud, laying her head back on his shoulder as Killian moved to turn off the water.

“I love you so much,” he breathed, laying his hands on her stomach. “I love both of you – and can’t imagine a world where we didn’t meet. You have made me so incredibly happy, Destiny.”

“Just imagine,” she said softly, reaching up to touch his face where it was beside her. “Next time you come home, you’ll be meeting our little girl.”

“Have you thought about names?”

“Have you?”

“I’m trying,” he admitted sheepishly, “but I feel like a dolt. I mean, you shouldn’t name your children ‘Miracle’ or ‘Amazing’ or ‘Great’ – and I really want our girl to be able to get cheesy junk off displays.”

“What do you mean?”

“Let me tell you, there are zero keychains, coffee mugs, or thimbles in this world that have ‘Killian’on them,” he said flatly. “If I ever found a stupid thimble with ‘Killian’on it – I’d start collecting them.”

She laughed in understanding now.

“Yeah, ‘Destiny’is pretty rare… but I’ve found it a few times.”

“Killian was a mixture of names that my parents put together. My grandmother Lillian had passed away before my birth – and my father’s name is Kevin.”

“Ahhh… I wondered.”

“Yeah, we aren’t mixing and meshing names, okay?”

“Where did Everly’s name come from?”

“Mom wanted to name her daughter Beverly so badly. She loved that name so much – but my father dated a girl named Beverly in high school. He said she was a real ‘B’ word, so the only way he would agree to it - was if they lost the ‘B’ in her name. Soooo, she became Everly.”

“No keychains with that…”

“Nope.”
