Everyone who was stilluninjured found themselves ejected from the domain. I had no patience for elves who weren’t under my own jurisdiction, and now that I was no longer a king, no elf was under me. Only those who needed medical attention remained.

The Seelie woman brought poison antidotes and healing potions with her. We were lucky that she had a collection—or I thought so until she explained that she’d made a batch or two of each once she knew that Del would be staying in town.

Del offered the seelie woman a favor in exchange for the healing. I saw the glint in Cerridwen’s eyes when she accepted the favor and tucked it away for later, but the woman slunk back home exhausted. Tonight was not the night for any kind of fanfare, it seemed.

“Ready to go home?” I asked Del.

Her gaze roved over the domain. I watched her take in the ways that it’d changed to reflect me. There was no gold anywhere to be seen. Instead, the domain took on the features of the apartment we’d left behind in Lakesedge. That’s where my heart belonged, and the way Del lit up when she realized it warmed me through and through.

She nodded and took my hand.

As we stepped in-between, flinging ourselves back to the apartment in Lakesedge, I collapsed the domain behind me. There was no need for it. If Del wanted another, she could make her own. I wanted nothing to do with Locke’s leftovers, or the elven realms for that matter.

I was free once and for all.

No crown weighed down my steps. No eyes averted when I entered rooms. There were no shrieks and cries of the battlefields, either.

I looped an arm around my lover and collapsed into bed with her in my arms. Tonight was not the night to finish what we’d started, but I knew there would be plenty of other nights to come.

DELPHINE

Iwas grateful that none of the other apartments in this building had tenants as I screamed my pleasure to the ceiling. I had Arven by the horn with one hand while he lapped up the juices of my climax. Every stroke of his tongue had me writhing for him all over again.

“I love your horns so much,” I said, breathless and boneless.

He laughed. The low sound vibrated through my body and acted like fuel on the spark in my core. I wanted him all over again. There wasn’t a moment that went by that I didn’t want him.

Neither of us held the titles we’d had when we first met. He was no longer a king. It’d been ages since I’d been a princess. Instead, we wereboyfriendandgirlfriendnow.

I savored the words every time I thought of them.

All this time, I thought I’d always be alone. My domain had been as empty as my heart. I’d thrown myself in there to escape the possibility of even finding someone I might grow attached to. Out here, in the mortal realm, I settled into a new kind of life with someone who took up every inch of available space in my heart.

Arven had also settled in quite nicely. Around the house, he let his form linger somewhere between man and beast—which I quite liked. The tusks were quite interesting in the bedroom, and the horns always made great handlebars.

He also thrived here. The man loved discovering everything the mortal world had to offer from fruit beers to smash burgers.

There was something else I wanted to explore.

I pushed him off me and onto his back so I could straddle his groin. The long, needy length of him pressed against my lower stomach. I could feel him throbbing and twitching, his needs barely hidden from sight. I took him in my hand and stroked, using the bead of moisture at the tip of his cock to let me glide up and down his shaft.

Maybe I should have been looking for more bounties to pick up. Maybe I should have been training or concocting new potions. There were so many things I could have filled my time with.

Right here and now, I wanted to be filled by him.

I lowered myself on top of him until he stretched me as far as I could go. My eyes rolled back in my head. My body settled around him after several heartbeats. Before I could even get myself under control, He took my hips in his hands and rocked me back and forth.

“K-keep this up…” My breath shuddered out of me as a wave of pleasure slammed into my body. “I won’t last long.”

Arven sat up and pressed his lips to mine. “Show me that endurance you built up, bounty hunter. Can you keep up with me?”

I growled, driven now, and pulled his hands away from my hips so that I could ride him.

Arven

“Are you going to propose?”Rhoan asked, eyes wide with childish excitement.
