In moments, a flurry of activity exploded around me. The staff took the bags from me and carried them upstairs. The bags disappeared almost instantly, and I didn’t even have to go up to my closet to know that everything was hung and organized already.

I put the chocolates I’d purchased in the fridge and looked at the clock above the stove. It was already quarter after six. Feeling increasingly anxious, I fidgeted for a few minutes before deciding to watch a movie to pass the time. I climbed the stairs to the room over the garage and fiddled with the home movie theatre settings until I figured out how to turn it on. I scrolled past a few movies, finding one of my favorites and settling in.

A short while later, the door opened and I started. I didn’t say anything when Sergei sat beside me and pulled me into his lap. He held me for a long while, and I tried my best to hide the tension in my body. I didn’t say anything about what I’d done today, and he didn’t either.

Did he know? Was I going to have to tell him?

We sat like that together for the entire movie and I only half paid attention, my mind too much of a whirling mess of anxiety, arousal, and fear of the unknown. Would he actually do it after all? Had he just been joking?

Like a goddamn traitor, my clit was throbbing the entire time.

When the credits finally rolled, he took the tablet and powered the system off. The silence felt heavy, and I broke it impulsively.

“How was your business today?”

“It went very well. I made a number of new contacts that I think will be very helpful for me in the future,” he replied. I tried to read into his tone of voice, but it was calm and steady. It didn’t show a hint of the sternness that had been there last night.

“I missed you,” I said shyly, wrapping my arms around his throat. Playfully, I kissed his cheek.

“I missed you too, babygirl,” he replied tenderly. His hand cupped my cheek, turning my head slightly so that he could kiss me sweetly enough to take my breath away.

“There is something you and I need to deal with before you go to bed, though, isn’t there?” he continued, and I stilled. I could have sworn my heart skipped a beat and I swallowed hard before I tried to think of a way to defend myself, even though I knew there really wasn’t anything I could say.

“I think I’m feeling pretty tired. I might just go to sleep,” I tried.

He chuckled, and there was a dangerous air to his tone that hadn’t been there before. His fingertips trailed up and down my spine, soothing and chilling all at the same time.

“Stand up, Natasha,” he dictated.

I wanted to fight, but my feet started moving all by themselves. I stood up in front of him, and he pushed off the plush leather couch. He said nothing of his intentions as he took my upper arm firmly and led me out of the room.

The tension between us only mounted as he walked me to my bedroom. He didn’t let go of my arm, and I worried my lower lip. His grip didn’t hurt, but it left no question that I was going to go wherever he wanted me to, whether I liked it or not.

When we reached my bedroom, he closed the door behind us and finally released me.

“Go get dressed in a nightshirt, babygirl. No pajama pants tonight.”

I gulped nervously, electing to disappear into my closet as quickly as I could. I delayed in there for several minutes before I undressed. I changed into a fresh pair of lacey black panties and looked back and forth over my various pajamas options before settling on a long sleeve satin button-up number that went to just above my knees. I took far too long washing my face and brushing my hair and my teeth, but he said nothing as he waited for me.

Would he really follow through? Did I actually want him to do this?

My pussy clenched hard, and I knew that I did. Eventually, I realized I was probably testing his patience and I approached the door to my bedroom slowly. Maybe I’d taken long enough that he’d left, or maybe he was deciding what to do with me… or maybe I was just going insane.

I opened the door and saw that he hadn’t left.

He was sitting on the bed, waiting for me expectantly. I stilled, losing my nerve, and he held out his hand, beckoning me to him.

“Come here, moya malyshka,” he dictated. The use of the Russian nickname made me feel more at ease and my toes slipped across the plush carpet, carrying me to him in seconds when all I wanted to do was run away.

“Last night, I gave you a set of rules to follow. I did not give them to you to control you or to place any limitations on you simply because I could. I am not that type of man,” he began.

I stared down at the floor, fixating on a single spot.

This is real…

“I gave you those rules because I live in a very dangerous world, and I need you to heed them so that I can protect you, keep you safe, and most importantly, alive,” he continued.

“But…” I tried and he shook his head. I stopped in my tracks, the words dying on my tongue in an instant.
