Luna lifts her head, pulls back her arm, and punches Zig in the chest. “Of course they were going to call me. I’m still technically their boss, asshat.” She shoves him. Or tries to. Even after his significant weight loss, the man is a wall.

Finished with him for now, she moves to Oz, who holds his arms open for her. She steps into them and sighs when she rests her head against his chest. “I knew you guys were alive. I just knew it.”

“It would take more than a plane crash to take us out, Luna. You know that.”

He looks at me over his shoulder, his eyes intense, most likely thinking about how different things could have been if I couldn’t do what I do.

“Mama?”

I turn at the sound of a child’s voice and find a tall, muscular man in a leather jacket and jeans at the end of the aisle with a little girl in his arms. She has a mass of blond, almost white, ringlets that reach down her back. Her huge blue eyes look uncertain for a moment until she spots Zig, then they light with wonder as she wriggles to get free.

“Uncle Ziggy,” she yells as the man holding her finally admits defeat and puts her down. As soon as she is free, she takes off as fast as her little feet can carry her.

I have a split second to admire how adorable she looks in her little black biker boots, skinny black jeans, and sparkly purple Henley before she throws herself at Zig. He doesn’t hesitate to bend down and scoop her up in his arms. When she wraps her arms around his neck, he looks over at us, his eyes holding back a storm of emotion.

“I thought she’d forget about us.” His voice comes out choked, and I feel a lump in my throat.

“I’d never let her forget you. I showed her pictures and talked about you every day,” Luna whispers, her voice cracking. “But if you ever pull that shit again… I’ll…” She stomps her foot. “Just don’t do it again, okay?”

“We’re sorry,” Zig tells her as the little angel in his arms turns to look at her mother. But her eyes quickly fall on Oz.

“Uncle Oz.” She holds her arms out for him. He grins and lets go of Luna so he can reach for her.

“Hey, princess. I missed the heck out of you.”

She places a smacking kiss on his cheek before she rests her head against his shoulder and slips a thumb in her mouth.

Dear God, my poor ovaries.

“Orion. Good to see you,” Zig says, drawing my attention away from the cutest little thing I’ve ever seen to the man who brought her on board.

“Not as good as it is to see you two. Never thought I’d admit that.” Both Oz and Zig laugh as the man walks down toward us. He looks over at Luna before his eyes move to me. “I see you brought something back with you.”

Zig signals for me to come to him, but Luna blocks my path. I’m a bit taller than her, but she has a confidence about her that borders on intimidating. “You’re the cartel wife?”

I frown. “Only if marriage to the cartel means living in a cell and watching while others are raped and tortured.”

Luna frowns before looking at Zig over her shoulder. “What?”

“Let her pass, Luna,” Zig tells her, his voice hard as he holds his hand out to me.

She huffs but turns so I can squeeze by her. “I’m only fucking asking. I think I have a right to know since I’m the one who had to live without you for months, wondering if you were dead or alive.”

“And I’m the one who lived it. I get it was hard being back home on the sidelines, but you have no idea what you’re talking about, Luna. None. Neither Oz nor I would be here if it wasn’t for Salem. We’d be dead.”

“Luna, come on. They’ve just landed, and you want to do this now?” Orion asks as I step into Zig’s arms.

“Shit. I’m sorry. These hormones are making me crazy. I’m not usually such a bitch.”

Oz laughs loudly. “Liar. But don’t worry. We love you, bitchiness and all. Wait, hormones? Are you pregnant again?”

“Apparently. Biker sperm seems to be impervious to any type of contraception. I’m just going to go on a sex strike. No p in my v means no b.”

I turn to look at Luna and offer her a small smile. “I’m not sure the brooding biker dude likes that plan.”

“Yeah, well, brooding biker dude doesn’t have to give up alcohol and coffee before squeezing out a watermelon.”

I nod. “This is true.”
