“What is taking so long?”

I turn at the sound of the voice and see another man in a leather jacket. This one seems less brooding than the other, but that could just be because he has a smile that could easily dazzle a person.

“Ignore him. This is one of my other guys, Halo.” Luna shakes her head at him.

“Other? So, you’re with him and Orion?” I blow out a relieved breath before remembering Oz and Zig telling me in the jungle that she was with more than one guy. I had completely forgotten about that until now. Hopefully, this means they will accept me, Oz, and Zig being together because I’m not giving up either of them.

“But wait, there’s more,” Oz teases. “Along with Orion and Halo, there is also Gage. And the three of them rule a gang of bikers known as the Kings of Carnage.”

“Club,” Orion and Halo correct him as I look Luna up and down and feel her tense, almost like she is bracing for my judgment.

“I don’t know how to break this to you, but I’d say with three biker badasses, you’ll probably be having more than just two kids.”

She gasps and holds her chest. “You take that back.”

I look at her with mock pity. “Sorry to break it to you, but there are two things women’s panties drop for the world over. And one of them is biker dick. It’s not even your fault. You’re preprogrammed to want to ride one.”

Zig growls in my ear, pulling me tight as Halo walks toward us with a shit-eating grin on his face.

“I knew it. I’m doomed. Damn this vagina of mine!” she says, looking down and shaking her fist at it. And I can’t help but burst out laughing.

“What’s the other thing?” Orion asks as he lays a possessive hand on Luna’s hip.

“Huh?” I ask, my laughter dying as I look up at him, resisting the urge to take a step back.

“You said there were two things that drop women’s panties the world over. Bikers are one. What’s the other?”

I smirk before looking over at Oz. “Sexy twins. There is nothing hotter than finding the man of your dreams and realizing there are two of them.”

Zig presses a kiss to my neck, making me shudder. “Plus, it’s always fun to find out just how identical they really are.”

“Ah, my ears.” Luna covers her ears in horror, making us all laugh. She stomps toward me with a scowl, which quickly morphs into a wide smile. “Welcome to the family.”

CHAPTERTHIRTY-THREE

Oz

Ilean against the door frame and watch Salem as she sits on the end of the bed with her head bowed. I’ve dreamed about having her here at home with us, but never in my imagination did I picture her looking so sad.

As if sensing my presence, she lifts her head and looks at me over her shoulder, offering me a small smile that doesn’t reach her eyes.

“What’s wrong?” I walk toward her and sit, looking down at her.

“Nothing.”

“You’re a terrible liar, Salem.”

She shakes her head and blows out a breath. “I’m just worried.”

“About being here?”

She looks up at me, tears swimming in her eyes. “About the danger me being here puts everyone you care about in. You know more people will come for me when they figure out where I am. They’ll kill you all to get to me. And what about your sister and your niece? They don’t deserve this.”

“And neither do you. Listen to me, okay?” I cup her cheek and draw her in closer, kissing her softly before pulling back. “We’ll go down and talk to the guys. We’ve been waiting for a couple of the others to return, but Zig just let me know they are ten minutes out. We lay it all on the table, and we give them a choice. If none of them are happy with us staying, then you, me, and Zig will leave, and we’ll cut contact. You are now and always will be our priority, Salem.”

She looks so fucking sad that I pull her into my arms and hold her, and she starts to cry.

“I think I understand now why my mother held a hint of resentment towards me. Because of me, no one can live a normal life.”
