Page 46 of Cyprus's Truth

Harlow starts for her, but Ranger pulls her back and into him. He hold her close, whispering something in her ear.

“Keep going,” Victoria snaps.

“It makes them listen, and well, I gave each of them a little something of it, but I mixed Daisy’s with a little of the heavenly, and well, it made her go wacko, as you saw. She wanted what she thought was hers, and I just had to whisper in her ear a little to edge her on,” Lorena explains.

“Why were the two of you sent?” Victoria demands, making it known she already knows what is going on. After Valentine was fixed up, she talked to Victoria and the others. She even answered questions Stoney had for her. Swear her whole situation is fucked up beyond measure.

“Because the stupid cunt didn’t do as she was supposed to. She’s Perrin’s personal pet. I was sent to fetch both the boy and her since she was taking too long. And since I’ve failed to return, don’t ask me how to find him because he’ll have been long gone. He doesn’t stay in one place for long.”

“He’ll see this as a failure and go for the next target, won’t he?” Raven asks.

“Not sure, but he’ll want his pet back, so don’t think about keeping her. He’ll come for her.” Lorena starts to cackle and rant those words repeatedly. It’s like something snaps inside her, and she goes looney.

Victoria grips Lorena by her throat again and, with her other hand, yanks a knife out. In a blink of an eye, she swiftly pulls the blade through the skin under her hand where she’s holding on. Blood spills from the slit as Victoria releases her.

“What now?” Harlow asks quietly. I’m sure the bitch brought up a lot of emotions for her and what she went through.

“Now, we make plans,” Stoney snarls.

“Remember what I said,” Raven speaks up. “This needs to end where it began. Lily needs to go to Chains’s club. She’s the key that will bring it all to a head.”

“You’re sure of this, Little Bird?” Blaze asks, enveloping his arms around his woman.

“I’m sure of it.” Nodding, she looks at me. “Just as I’m sure the coyote you saw last night was sent to protect Noelle.”

“How did you . . .”

Raven smiles and taps her ear. “The winds told me last night. They said she would be protected, and it was safe for her to go out there because the coyote would keep her that way.”

Freaky yet interesting.

“Let’s get the fuck out of here,” Stoney orders and blows out a breath. We’ll discuss everything in church. We’ll also need to talk to Chains about sending Lily to him. We also need to work things out with Mateo.”

“How about you leave Mateo to Cyprus and me?” Viper suggests.

“Sounds good to me,” Stoney agrees. “Let the Mississippi Charter have the newfound headache.” A moment later, he leaves with the others following. The only ones left in the room are Viper, Kevlar, Aries, and me.

“So, what now, Prez, VP?” Kevlar grins.

“First, we get everything organized. Talk with Mateo and get moved,” Viper says.

“I don’t want him near Noelle yet. Let’s get everything else straight before we deal with that headache,” I grunt.

“Agreed,” Viper confirms, and the others nod. “Let’s go. I need to see my woman.”

“Same.” I chuckle in agreement.

“Shit, I just want to get my dick wet,” Kevlar grumbles. “And I ain’t trying to use another clubwhore. Not after that bullshit.”

Shaking my head, I ignore Kevlar’s statement and Aries egging him on. I make my way out of the Pocket, my mind set on one thing, getting to my woman.

I take a moment to stop just outside the clubhouse doors and look at the woods. Raven said the coyote was sent to protect Noelle, and I can only imagine who sent it—Noah. Even gone, he’ll protect her, but that’s my job now, and his is to rest in peace knowing I’ve got it covered this time around. Noelle’s my woman. My ol’ lady. My everything. And the truth is she always has been. I was just too blind to see it.
