“I’m sure it will be okay.” I picked at the label of the beer bottle to hide my trepidation. “I just wish I’d broken it off earlier.”

Flynn frowned. “You wanted out?”

“For a while now.” I sighed. “I just didn’t know how to tell him.”

“Or perhaps you were too scared,” Ethan said, crossing his arms.

“He’s not a monster, Ethan.”

“You literally just found him neck deep in another woman’s vagina, and now you’re defending him?”

“Probably because…I somehow…”—I grimaced—“pushed him there. We haven’t beenintimatein months.”

“Ew!” Both boys covered their ears as they simultaneously shuddered.

“Oh, grow up. I’m twenty-five. And it’s not like I haven’t had to hear about your sexcapades over the years.”

“Yeah, well, there are different rules for sisters. Sex talk is off limits.”

“Fuck you,” I bit. “Now that I’m single, I’m going to be havingallthe sex.”

Flynn pretended to gag. “I’m going to vomit.”

“Yep,” I declared proudly as I pulled my phone from my back pocket. “I’ve downloaded this app a girl at work told me about, and it uses your location to find matches in your area. All you have to do is swipe left or right, and—”

Flynn snatched my phone. “Not on my watch,” he uttered, desperately trying to find the app.

“Why not? I deserve to have a little fun.”

Ethan rummaged through the fridge for another beer, then growled when he found nothing but old take-out containers.

“You’re too good to fuck around, Daisy. You’ll meet someone…” Flynn’s voice softened. “Someone who sees your worth.”

“So, you and Ethan can manwhore your way through life, but I have to lock myself in an ivory tower and wait for my prince?”

“Yep,” they said in unison.

“That’s bullshit.” I stole my phone back. “Plus, this is how everyone meets these days.”

Flynn’s stern expression didn’t falter. “Delete the app.”

“What are you afraid of, Flynn?” I asked, pretending to tap into it. “Are you on here?”

“I don’t need a fucking dating app.”

I rolled my eyes because he was right. Although my brother was a little grumpy these days, he was blessed with great looks and confidence, and I was sure once he put himself out there again, the women would come flocking. Just like they did for Ethan. “Well, I may not find ‘the one,’ but at least I can have fun trying.”

“There are serial killers on those things.”

Laughter burst from my lips. “Flynn, your friends are on here.”

“How do you know—fuck! I don’t want to know! My friends are off limits.”

I glanced over at Ethan, then back at my brother, forcing a sickly sweet smile. “That’s fine with me. Strangers are way more exciting.”

Flynn’s chest rumbled. “Daisy…”

I jumped off the stool and meandered down the hallway.
