“Your Secret Service agents. Eli and Bode came back and when you weren’t at the villa, they called your agents.”

I roll my eyes. “Why are you here? I thought you of all people wouldn’t care.”

Before he can answer, Eli and Keene come out of the club. “Let’s go.”

“No.” I cross my arms over my chest.

“Seriously, Juno. I will carry you back. You’re drunk. I’m not leaving you here.”

“What if I want to be here?” I say as I lose my balance a little. Declan grabs my arm to steady me.

“I don’t care. Come on,” Eli says.

“Eli, you aren’t the boss of me.”

He huffs. “I’m not letting you go home with that random guy.”

Declan puts his arm around my shoulder and says, “You’re too drunk anyway. No guy should take you home when you’re like this.”

Declan starts walking me toward the villa, and I don’t resist this time. I feel like crying, but I’m not going to. They are probably right – I’m too drunk. Next time, I won’t drink so much. But I’m getting worried they won’t leave me alone long enough for me to be with someone. Am I going to have to run away? This is getting absurd.

Declan squeezes my shoulder and says, “We’re just looking out for you.”

I scoff.

“You know we love you.”

I don’t doubt they love me. Their love for me isn’t the problem. My problem is my independence – or lack thereof. It doesn’t seem like anything is changing with that anytime soon.

Chapter Seven

Bode

“You can’t wear that,” I say as soon as she steps out of her room. We’re staying in rooms across from each other in Rome.

She scowls at me and crosses her arms over her chest. “Is that right?”
