“Juno...”

She cuts me off. “Not you too. I’m sick of this. I’m tired of being told what I can do, where I can go, what I can wear. It’s none of your damn business.”

“It’s not...”

“Seriously, shut up. I don’t want to hear it,” she snaps.

I hold my hands up like I’m surrendering. “Can I say something?”

She glares at me. “Fine.”

“We’re going to the Vatican today. There’s a dress code.”

“Oh.” She looks down at her dress.

I continue. “You can’t show this.”

I motion to my shoulders and chest.

I look down at her legs. “I think it’s too short too.”

She blushes. “Right. I’ll go change.”

Before she goes into her bedroom, she pauses and says, “Sorry. I’m a bit sensitive right now about all of it.”

“I know,” I say softly. I’m not sure how I feel about dragging her out of that club last night, but I don’t want to get in the middle of their family drama.

I walk downstairs and she comes down a few minutes later, wearing a long flowy skirt and short sleeve shirt that covers her shoulders and comes up to her neck.

“Better,” she says once she sees me.

I nod. “I think the Pope would approve.”

She just snorts and walks into the kitchen. I follow her. She pours a cup of coffee and then leans against the cabinets.

“Are you not speaking to me?” Eli asks.

She just glares at him.

“Mad at me too?” Declan asks.

“Yes,” she says. “I feel especially betrayed by you.”

“Me?” Declan says.

Maggie pats Juno on the back. “Honestly, I’m on your side about this. They need to chill out.”

“Yeah. They really do. She’s an adult. Let her live her life,” Zadie agrees.

“I’m on your side too,” Keene says. “I’ll help you sneak out whenever.”

Eli growls at Keene.

“Who is sneaking out?” Will asks as he walks into the kitchen and starts giving hugs.

Eli points at Juno. “She’s trying to get kidnapped and killed.”

Will gives Juno a hug. “Is that right? We can’t have that.”
