“You’re overreacting,” she says.

He sighs. “I’m not, Juno. I’m really not.”

She doesn’t move.

“Sit down,” he says.

“No.”

He shrugs. “Suit yourself.”

She turns.

“You can just go back through your door. You don’t have to climb back in the window,” he calls after her.

She holds up her middle finger over her head as she walks away.

Chapter Nineteen

Juno

Ialmost don’t go tobreakfast the next morning I’m so annoyed. I can’t sneak out. I can’t convince Bode to be with me even though I’m pretty certain that he’s attracted to me. Maybe I just need to run away like Brooklyn did? My stomach rumbles as I lay in bed plotting my escape, so I pull myself out of bed and get ready. When I get down to the breakfast room, the boys are already eating.

“Are you excited about this cooking school?” Eli asks. We’re leaving today to head in that direction.

I don’t answer.

“Not speaking to me?” he asks without looking up from his plate.

I just arch an eyebrow in response and pour myself coffee.

“You’re going with Declan to the Dolomites?” Bode asks Keene.

Keene’s mouth is full of pastry, but he answers anyway, “Yeah. I’m meeting up with the rest of the group later. I think Kip is going to the Dolomites too. I don’t think Will and Zadie have decided. Some of them are going to stay in Rome.”

Well, this is going to be awkward – just me, Eli, and Bode for the next two weeks. I steal a glance at Bode out of the corner of my eye. He looks terribly uncomfortable. He looked equally uncomfortable last night in the courtyard, probably didn’t love thinking about me sneaking out to hook up with the guy at the bar. Well, it’s none of his business.
