“And yet look, ye survived. I’m proud of ye, babe.” I stand up and extend my hand to help him up. “Ye think Chase is okay out here for the night?”

“Are you kidding me? That kid could survive sleeping on a bed of nails. Justdon’twake him.”

“What about Benjamin Blueberry?”

“For once, the demonic baby isn’t crying, so let’s leave him sleeping with Chase.”

I smile and lean in, touching my lips to his again. I murmur, “I can’t believe we’re going to do this.”

“You won’t regret it.” TJ’s teeth graze my neck, causing me to shiver. “I’ll call the lawyers tomorrow. I know we can’t do anything tonight, but maybe tomorrow night can we circle back to how hot you look when you’re all growly angry with your shirt off?”

I chuckle. “I’m not holding a mallet while we have sex, Love.”

TJ trails down the hall after me. “Not during sex, no. That would give me serial killer stalker vibes. But what if you held it—”

“Nope.”

“But it makes me all tingly,” he whines.

“It makes ye want to take a piss?” I turn and wait for him in our doorway, lifting an eyebrow.

“What? No. Have you been talking to that bratty ex-bestie of mine?” He marches past me and I grin, closing the door. If only he knew how much Kiki and I talk.

Chapter 12

Andie

Checking my watch,I finish loading the photos from this morning’s shoot onto my computer. Charleigh will be waking up from her nap soon and I’ll have to get Enzo from preschool. After that, I won’t have time to edit the photos until after everyone goes to bed. I’m so tired lately, I wonder if I need to cut back on the photography jobs, or tell Sarah, Kiki, and TJ that I need to cut my hours at work. The thought makes me nauseous. They’re the reason my photography business is so successful. The reason I met the love of my life, Cam, and the reason I’m still living in Nashville. I owe them everything.

Nausea rolls in my belly. I rush to the bathroom and upend the contents of my stomach into the toilet. I sit back on my heels and flush it down. Jesus, this flu is lasting forever. My phone dings with a text from my best friend, Mandy.

Mandy:I got the go-ahead for a girls’ weekend! Are you free next weekend?

Me:Sure

Mandy:I can hear the enthusiasm bursting in your voice.

Me:Sorry, I’m not feeling well. I just threw up.

My phone rings and I groan, knowing Mandy will call back every thirty seconds if I don’t pick up.

“You can still come this weekend,” I tell her. “It’s probably stress. Or a stomach bug.”

“You’ve been complaining about being nauseous for three weeks,” Mandy says all-knowingly. “Denial ain’t just a river in Egypt, my friend.”

“What are you talking about?”

“Andie, you’re pregnant. Auntie Mandy knows these things. She also knows your ovulation schedule, the fact that you never throw up, and that you and Cam hump like sex-starved island dogs, any time of the day, anywhere.”

“First of all, you’re insane. Second, how do you know my ovulation schedule?”

“TJ and I had a tracker from when you were pregnant with Charleigh. He had to because he was your doula.”

“And you have it because…?”

“Because as your best friend and godmother to Enzo and Charleigh, it’s my duty to know when Forbes baby number three is on the way.”

“Well, you’re going to be disappointed. I’m not preggers. I never got sick with Enzo or Charleigh. Cam has been out of town a lot and I had my period…” Shit, when was my last period? “It doesn’t matter. I’m on the Pill. I’m done having babies.”
