“What?” Joni asked.

I chin-gestured to Brooklyn, who’d fallen asleep.

“Let her be,” Darcy said, removing the empty ice cream bowl from her belly and taking it to the sink.

“See you guys in the morning. You cooking tomorrow?” Joni asked. “Those biscuits and gravy you made today were diabolical.”

I grinned, feeling proud of myself. “I owe it all to Crow. But no, I won’t be cooking tomorrow. Crow is on guard duty, so I won’t have a cooking buddy.”

“I’ll help,” Brooklyn murmured, finally opening her eyes.

“Hey, Sleeping Beauty,” I teased.

“How long was I out?” she asked.

“Just a few minutes,” I assured her.

“What time is it?” she asked.

“A little after eight,” Darcy said with a smile.

“Oh, I became that person, didn’t I?” Brooklyn joked, holding out her hand. Mia was closest to her and helped her stand.

“I’ll become that person in a few months,” Willa said. “Don’t feel bad.”

“And here I am, asleep where I’m standing. Night all,” Joni said.

“Hmm. Bed,” Mia moaned.

They left the living room and a few moments later I heard several doors shutting.

“And then there were three,” Darcy said. She poured herself a glass of white wine and moved to the couch.

“This does feel a bit lopsided,” I announced.

“You’re not actually feeling the pressure, are you?” Willa asked.

“Pressure?”

“Baby pressure,” she clarified.

“Nah, not really. Tank’s cute. They’re all cute. But no, I’m not actively thinking about a baby.”

“Hard not to think about it, though.” Willa looked at Darcy and then back to me. “I thought I was going to wait.”

“Why didn’t you?” I asked.

She shrugged. “I felt safe and comfortable in my relationship and then I realized it was something I really wanted.”

“Duke was baby-crazy,” Darcy said with a laugh. “I swear, all these men are. That’s how they’re wired.”

“Did Gray want babies before you?” I asked.

Darcy nodded. “He’s older than me. But we were together awhile before we had kids. That was right for us.”

“I miss my house,” Willa announced. “I want to go home.”

“Girl, same,” Darcy said.
