We all smacked the table to signal our support.

“So, what are we doing from here on out?” Bones asked.

“That’s my next order of business,” Colt said. “We’ve made a shitload of money over the years from our enterprises. We have options now, and I’ve spoken with Vance. It’s time to go legit.”

“Legit? How?” Acid asked.

“Clubs, bars, real estate. We’ll diversify. Look, Waco’s a fucking mess. It’s time for the club to own that we’re part of that. But it ends here and now.” Colt’s brow furrowed. “Moving forward, we’re going to have clean books and make sure our women and children are safe. No more looking over our shoulder for danger. The surprise we had with the Feds was the way out we didn’t know we needed. It’s going to be much better for everyone if the club is legit.”

“Works for me,” I said.

“Yeah, same,” Zip said.

“All those in favor of going legit, say aye,” Colt said.

The vote was unanimous once again.

It felt good belonging to a brotherhood—a real brotherhood. Kelp, Bones, Smoke, Raze and I had once had a club. But it hadn’t been anything like this.

Colt ran his club with transparency, and in a short period of time I had come to respect him.

It was an honor to call these men my brothers.

Colt banged the gavel. “We’re done. Now let’s get out there and celebrate Viper making Sutton his Old Lady.”

Hoots and hollers erupted, and they smacked the table in a round of support.

We all stood and made our way out of the shed. The sun was shining high in the sky, the air was blistering hot, but I barely noticed.

All I saw was the gorgeous, sassy brunette wearing a pink sundress and holding out her left forearm to show off her new tattoo to Willa.

She’d gotten the club’s logo with a snake coming out of the skull’s mouth with my name below it. It was bold. And big. No one could ever miss it.

As if Sutton knew I was thinking about her, she looked at me. Her eyes met mine and she winked before turning her attention back to Willa.

“You look happy, brother,” Raze said, coming up next to me and sipping on his beer.

“I am,” I admitted.

“Feel weird?”

“A little bit.”

He chuckled and then slapped my shoulder. “Glad you’re happy, man. The last few years were rough on you. She’s a good woman. I approve.”

“And if you didn’t?” I glanced at him.

He shrugged. “Wouldn’t matter. Your choice. But I like her—we all like her—and we’re happy for you both.”

I didn’t have to say it but Raze knew what I was thinking. We were brothers. They hadn’t abandoned me, even when I was behind bars. They’d visited. They’d checked in and provided me funds so I could stay comfortable. Then they had made a place for me here when I got out.

“What about you?” I asked.

“What about me?” he inquired.

“You and Rach. What’s happening there?”

His gaze trekked across the backyard to stare at the brunette. “We’re friends. She doesn’t want more.”
