“Heathen,” I muttered and brushed past him, quickly getting back to work.
Mia had been right—there was another swarm of customers.
I slid behind the bar.
Mia shot me an amused look with raised eyebrows. I immediately felt my cheeks heat.
Viper’s stool had been commandeered, so he stood at the end of the bar.
I looked into the sea of faces, surprised to see some that I recognized.
“Hey there, half-pint,” Savage greeted with a grin. “I wanted to come and see how you were doing on your first night.”
“Hi,” I said. “And I’m doing well.”
“Look at that tip jar,” Mia said, pointing to the jar next to the register. “Sutton is killing it.”
“What can I get you to drink?” I asked.
“Two pilsners and a club soda,” he said.
“All that for you?” I teased.
“Nope.” He looked over his shoulder as he moved to the side. “I’m with Willa and Duke.”
“Willa and Duke,” I repeated. “Oh right, the threesome.”
“Nota threesome,” the tall blonde woman protested with a grin.
A man with dark hair and dimples rested an arm around her shoulders.
“You weren’t lying, Savage,” Willa said. “She’s adorable.”
“You think I’m adorable?” I batted my eyelashes at Savage.
“Hey, don’t look at me that way,” Savage said as he reached into his leather cut for his wallet. “Viper is standing at the other end of the bar giving me a death glare. I don’t feel like dying tonight.”
“You’re scared of Viper?” I teased.
“Damn right. The man looks like he can split logs with his bare hands,” Savage quipped.
“That would be so hot,” I stated.
“Holy shit,” Willa said, elbowing Savage. “You so weren’t lying.”
“Told you,” Savage said.
“Told her what?” I demanded.
“Told her that you had the hots for Viper,” he said.
I definitely had the hots for Viper—which was the only reason I’d let him finger me in a public hallway less than five minutes earlier.
“I’m so fascinated by this,” Willa admitted.
I pushed the three drinks toward them. “Don’t listen to anything Savage says—he’s a gossip.”
“Damn right,” Savage agreed.
