“Mia helped,” Willa said with a smile.

“Thanks for throwing me under the bus,” Mia said with a laugh as she patted a baby resting against her shoulder.

Willa took my hand. “I’ll introduce you to everyone.”

“Should we get name tags? I feel like name tags are a good idea,” I quipped.

“I like her already.” A slender brunette who looked to be in her early forties with teased hair stood at the counter, sipping from her to-go soda cup. “I’m Darcy.”

I waved.

There were three women on the couch, all of whom had babies or were pregnant.

“Jeez, what’s with the biker sperm?” I blurted out. “Is it, like, more potent than average male sperm?”

The pregnant woman laughed. “Absolutely. Did you like the breakfast I brought yesterday?”

“Oh, that was you!” I said in realization. “The bakery owner.”

“That’s me. I’m Brooklyn.”

“Yes, it was delicious. I’m so sorry I didn’t get a chance to meet you yesterday.”

“That’s okay.” Brooklyn’s eyes twinkled. “You were…occupied.”

Heat suffused my cheeks.

“I know that look,” Joni said, looking down at her baby in his sling. “That’s the look of a woman who’s getting it good.”

All attention turned to me.

“What, you think I kiss and tell?” I demanded.

“You don’t have to tell nothin’,” Mia said with a laugh. “It’s plain as day.”

“You’re walking funny,” a bottle-blonde joked with a wink. “I’m Allison.”

“Save me,” I said to Willa.

“Clothes,” Willa said. “Let’s give the girl a break.”

“We should have a barbecue,” Darcy announced. “So you can officially meet everyone. Doc and Rach aren’t here.”

“There are more of you?” I asked in surprise.

“Yep,” Darcy said with a grin. “There needs to be more though. We have far too many single brothers who need good Old Ladies.”

“Well, if that isn’t beating me over the head with it,” I muttered, which caused everyone to laugh.

I sat on the floor in front of the bags and riffled through them. The leather pants with rhinestones were absolutely adorable and I couldn’t wait to try them on. Willa also got me a leather jacket with fringe and rivets. The boots though. They were to die for. Thick soled, leather, and laced up half my calf.

“Okay, I’m officially obsessed with everything you brought me,” I said. “How much do I owe you?”

“You don’t,” Willa said, still standing by the couch.

“What are you talking about? Of course, I have to pay you,” I protested.

“I won’t take your money,” Willa said.
