“Surprise!!” they squealed.
She was smiling from ear to ear when she noticed my brothers and me watching the whole scene play out. “Oh,” she said to her friends. “Did you meet Sawyer and Saint?”
The girls nodded and giggled like they’d never seen three shirtless guys before.
“Holly and Laney, this is Seren,” Grace motioned with her hand in my direction.
Their eyes drank me in. I was used to the attention, but I wondered if Grace had mentioned me to them.
“Show us around,” one of them said to Grace.
“Let me go put my balloons away.”
“I’ve got you,” Sawyer said, taking the balloons and tying them to the arm of the nearby bench for her.
“Thanks, Sawyer.” Without looking at me, Grace took off with them toward the back lawn.
I glanced at Sawyer who was giving me scheming eyes. “What?”
“There are three of them,” he said with bouncing brows.
“So?” I said.
“There are three of us,” he explained.
“If either of you touches Grace, I’ll kill you,” I warned.
Saint eyed me curiously.
“I knew it!” Sawyer said. “You’ve wanted her since the day she moved in.”
“Have not,” I said.
“She hates you,” Saint added.
“She doesn’t hate me,” I countered.
Saint looked unconvinced.
Sawyer shook his head. “Girls always go for the dicks.” He glanced at Saint. “You won’t have any trouble getting one of them. You’re more of a dick than Seren.”
Both Saint and I flipped Sawyer the bird as he took off after them.
Grace
My heart was so full as I watched Holly and Laney laughing as Sawyer flipped into the pool and splashed them. Despite the warm temperature, the pool was still too cold for us to go in. We lounged on the poolside chairs and caught up with each other, eating the red velvet cake they’d brought me.
Throughout the day, I glanced over at the driveway hoping Seren would come outside. Saint had surprisingly joined us, keeping his distance as he played on his phone, but Seren hadn’t.
“You hot for my brother?” Saint asked likely catching me.
“What?”
“Seren? You got a thing for him?” he asked.
“Do tell,” Holly said, leaning closer as if we were talking about something juicy.
“You two would look hot together,” Laney added.
