“I know, babe. That’s why I’m doing it. I want you to feel good.”

“I’m close.”

He abandoned my clit, leaving me on the verge of the most intense orgasm I’d ever experienced. “I need to be inside you,” he said as he pulled off his shorts and dug into his wallet, retrieving a condom and rolling it on. He covered me with his body. I could feel his erection between my legs as he stared down into my eyes. “I love you so damn much.”

Tears glazed my eyes. Seren loving me had seemed so impossible over the last month. “I love you, too.”

He pressed his lips to mine, and as he parted my mouth with his tongue, he thrust inside me. I gasped, but he didn’t stop kissing me. His hips began thrusting, and I yearned to melt into him. To get lost in him. To let him erase everything from my brain. I slipped my hands behind his back, trailing my fingertips up to his neck and through the back of his hair. His scent brought me back to prom night in the treehouse. Our first time together. All he’d done to make the night perfect. I knew it then. And, I knew now. Seren Grayson was it for me. I could feel it all the way down to my bones.

I tore my mouth from his, catching my breath as he buried his nose in the crook of my neck, grunting as his thrusts became deeper and harder. God, he was so strong. He was everything I never knew I needed in my life.

I lifted my hips, meeting his thrusts. With that angle, he brushed my clit relentlessly. I whimpered as the sensations between my thighs began to intensify.

“Are you close?” he asked.

“Yes,” I breathed, my eyes pinched tightly as my thoughts focused on our bodies moving as one.

“Look at me, Grace,” Seren rasped.

I opened my eyes.

His face hovered inches from mine. “God, you’re so damn beautiful.”

I closed my eyes, embarrassed by his words in such close proximity.

“Look. At. Me,” he grunted with each thrust.

I opened my eyes again.

“I want to watch you let go,” he said.

His words acted as a direct line to my clit because it seemed to coil, all the sensations building in that one spot.

“Show me, Grace,” he said, his hips still moving and his eyes on mine.

The coil unraveled and tremors shot out, a glorious hum coasting over my skin as I trembled from the inside out. I kept my eyes focused on his as my body continued to quiver. Then, a peaceful calm washed over me, keeping me abuzz with after-tremors.

Seren continued thrusting until his eyes closed and he dropped his head, a low groan coming from the back of his throat as he thrust one more time then stopped inside me. “Jesus,” he said as he lowered himself down on top of me. “I missed you.”

I wrapped my arms around him, knowing exactly what he meant. Despite our differences, despite our rocky start, despite the month apart, the two of us were meant to be. And nothing—and no one—would come between us again.

CHAPTER 43

Seren

The next morning while Grace slept soundly—probably the first good night’s sleep she’d had since that motherfucker kicked her out of the manor—I lay beside her, relishing in the feel of her body as I tried to figure out what the hell to do. If everything was monitored the way she said it was, I needed to watch my every move and stay a step ahead of Martine. He thought he was so clever. The fucker had no idea who he was up against.

There was a knock on the door. I sat up slowly, not wanting to wake Grace. I went to it and took the breakfast I’d ordered from the delivery guy who stood there. “Thanks, man,” I said before closing the door quietly and placing it on the desk. My girl needed to eat.

I sat down on the edge of the bed and grabbed Grace’s phone off the desk. I’d get my own prepaid phone today so I could contact her and my brothers moving forward. I sent off a quick text. It’s Seren. I need your help. Call me at this number.

“Seren?” Grace whispered.

“Go back to sleep,” I whispered. “I’m figuring some things out.”

“Let me help.”

“Awwww, babe. You’ve already done more than enough.” I leaned down and pressed my lips to her forehead, never feeling as lucky as I did with her beside me. Last night had been what we both needed. And now I knew for sure that our time apart had not changed a thing. Our feelings were still the same, and no crazy stepfather could change that. “I got you breakfast.”
