Did that mean he wanted me to touch him? Or was he okay with being close to me but didn’t want anything sexual because I was ruined by others?

I was going crazy trying to find an answer.

In the morning, my room was still locked. It meant Gabriele was either asleep or he was gone. I couldn’t blame him if he was gone.

I didn’t have anything to eat in the room, but that was okay. I was used to going without food. I ate more in these last days anyways. It was best to just take a bath again. It would keep me occupied.

When I was about to stand up from my bed, the door’s lock turned. I held my breath. I didn’t know how to act in front of him after last night. I was not ready to see him. But still, I felt great disappointment when I saw it was not Gabriele on the other side.

A young blonde girl flashed a huge smile at me. “Oh, great, you are awake.” She got inside the room and sat on the edge of my bed.

My shoulders were still tense as I looked at her. I didn’t know her. She had long golden hair and smooth skin. She was wearing a tight pink dress that belonged to a night out. It looked like she just cleaned her make-up but forgot little dark spots next to her green eyes.

“Umm… Who are you?” I asked.

She looked at me with furrowed brows. “You don’t know me?”

“Should I?”

She let herself fall back to the bed. “Well, I put so many of my pictures into the living room.”

I have not been to the living room. For a second, her words brought a horrible thought to my mind. Was she Gabriele’s girlfriend? She looked to be relatively young but not like a minor. She was also gorgeous.

But then I realized her hair was the same shade as Gabriele’s, and she seemed to be the fitting size for the shirt and sweats I was wearing. “You are Gabriele’s sister.”

“Yes!” she said happily, like we were on a game show, and I just won the prize by knowing who she was. “I am Priscilla Falzone.” She held out her hand for me.

Because she was lying down, I had to turn my hand to a weird position, but I shook her hand. “Kira Kozlov.”

“Man, that sounds like a secret spy name.”

“You are just saying that because it is Russian.”

Priscilla pulled her hand and giggled guiltily. “Yeah, probably. You can guess that I don’t have many Russian friends.”

Probably as a Cosa Nostra woman, she didn’t. I couldn’t comment on that, though. There was a more important question in my head. “Why are you here?” I asked, trying to be not rude. I was a captive after all, but I just had to ask.

She didn’t seem even a little bothered by the question. “Well, you know I was at the Hamptons, and then I sneaked out of the house, hitchhiked to the city, went to a club, and eventually Gabriele had to drag me here.” Her green eyes narrowed and found mine. “He said that he would take me back to the Hamptons, but apparently, you don’t like to be left alone a lot, so I am here to accompany you.”

My chest swelled with so many emotions. Even after what I did yesterday night, he was still considerate of me. Even though I was his captive, he was still thoughtful. He couldn’t stay at home but still didn’t leave me alone.

He didn’t want me to see him like Aleksei.

There was no way I could do that. He was the exact opposite. He was what I needed, and Aleksei was what I got.

Still, I didn’t know this girl, and I didn’t want her to be bothered just because I had my insecurities. I could feel my cheeks get warmer. “You really don’t have to do that.”

Priscilla shook her head. “Believe me, it is much more fun than being in the Hamptons. I had to stay with my uncle.”

“Why?” I asked. Gabriele was Capo, but still, he didn’t seem like a man to force his sister to do something she didn’t want to. Especially when the said sister was not a child.

Priscilla sat up and shrugged. “He said it was for protection. But I got bored. I didn’t come all that way just so I could party, though. I wanted Gabriele to find me so I could come here.”

As long as I knew what she did was not very appropriate for a young woman in Cosa Nostra. They were supposed to be obedient virgins. Priscilla didn’t seem like that type, and I loved it. I also respected Gabriele more for letting her be free like that.

Maybe her not having a place of her own was not ideal, and forcing her to leave was not nice, but I could understand it. I could understand the latter much better. He was preparing something big for the Bratva, and not having her sister close was a good idea.

Priscilla didn’t give me time to say anything and stood up from the bed. “Come downstairs. I ordered pizza.”
