Eden turned her head to see Dante, who was now looking superb in a black Italian suit, leaning against the door frame and staring with his hands in his pockets. From his confident smile, he could already guess some of her thoughts. Eden sighed and grabbed the hair dryer.

“...Not really.”

She hated sounding like an ungrateful person, but this was just a lot to process right now. She turned on the hairdryer to try to mute her thinking, but it wasn’t working.

Why was he gifting her jewelry now? Right after they had sex? No, it couldn’t be linked. They had sex just a few hours ago, it had probably taken longer to prepare all that, and a box with her name... Unless he predicted this was going to happen sooner or later? And even if it wasn’t related to the sex, was it alright for her to accept something? She wasn’t a whore. Why would she get presents from Dante? No, the real question was... what was she to him now? His people probably knew they were sleeping together, but what were his real intentions? She kept thinking about their discussion earlier, in the bathroom. It felt like the absolute truth.

From the start, Dante had acted... obsessed with her. It wasn’t really about Ghost anymore, was it? Or was it because he thought he had Ghost, so it was the same? Eden just couldn’t find an end to her looping thoughts. She tried to focus solely on drying her blonde hair, taming a couple of natural curls here and there. She was staring at her reflection, almost not recognizing this stranger. In just a matter of days, so much had changed, both on the inside and outside. She was now wearing some fancy clothes and perfume. She smelled good, she felt clean, and her blonde hair was shining too. There were no remnants of her dark circles from before, her tired shoulders, or the fear in her eyes... Did she really feel so safe now?

As Eden got lost in her thoughts, and her hair was now dry, she suddenly felt a hand on hers and jumped. Dante had come in silent as a cat, and was now staring at her from the side, with his mysterious smile on.

“...Why are you always so stubborn?”

His deep voice seized Eden’s voice, leaving her without anything to answer to that. Instead, she watched him take the hair dryer from her hands and grab the little velvet box. He opened it, staring at its contents for a little while as if he wasn’t certain what he wanted.

Then, his long fingers took out the bracelet. Slowly and without a word, he carefully put it around her thin wrist. Eden found it to be heavier than it looked, but it was really pretty... Before she could react, Dante was already moving to put the necklace around her neck. The movement of his fingers sent terrific hot and cold waves down her nape. Eden froze, making sure not to move an inch. She couldn’t help but realize how well that piece of jewelry matched her complexion... and even her outfit. It worked together, but instead of a bodyguard, she now looked like some powerful woman boss... or a sexy office lady. When Dante grabbed the earrings, she took a step back.

“I... I won’t wear it.”

“But your ears are pierced?”

“I meant, all of that jewelry. I’m going to see the Zodiacs, not to work...”

Dante suddenly frowned. Something about that last line had upset him, but she couldn’t figure out why. Still, he opened his hand, presenting her with the earrings.

“It’s a demonstration of power like any other,” he said. “I will look powerful if the woman by my side wears these...”

“Pretty rocks?”

“Expensive rocks. ...Also, I really want to see you wearing them.”

Eden hesitated. The truth was, those earrings were really pretty... She liked them the most out of all the pieces. She sighed, and took them from his hand.

“Fine, but not the ring.”

“Alright.”

Dante agreed to her not wearing the ring so easily, Eden was a bit surprised. She silently put the earrings in, only to notice, once again, how great they looked on her... They made her neck stand even taller and thinner, showing off her jawline. Then, with her senses coming back to her, she turned to Dante, shaking her head.

“No, I can’t, that’s–”

He shut her up with a kiss. Eden couldn’t react before his lips were on hers, but it was like an automatic reaction inside. Her stomach twisted, her skin shivered, and her extremities twirled... She answered the kiss a bit too late, but Dante was leading this one. She had been so careful not to kiss him, or at least, not when she feared she might lose control, but now... She was clearly losing it. Dante’s possessiveness was transcribed in this savage kiss of his. His hand was on her neck, holding her head and grabbing her hair, as if he needed to hold on to all of her. Eden grabbed his shoulders, but she had a hard time focusing when his other hand was already on her waistline, playing with the edges of her top. He could easily slide his playful fingers under the fabric... She realized this was perhaps the reason he’d wanted her to wear this thing. Eden blushed, but with all the strength she could gather, she pushed him away.

She had to insist a bit, but Dante finally stepped back. They stared at each other, out of breath and excited by this tension between them. The remnants of their savage sex from earlier was still floating in the air, threatening to induce them into another round. Still, Eden kept her hands up, keeping the beast at bay. Dante smiled.

“...Wear it,” he simply said.

“Fuck you.”

“You’re very welcome to, anytime.”

He left, leaving a red Eden behind in the bathroom. She sighed and ran her fingers through her hair, mad, and a bit ashamed too. She had given in to his whim... again. Had she ever won against him? No wonder it felt so good to ride him and dominate... She sighed and turned to look at herself in the mirror, promising herself she’d get back at him somehow.

Eden finished styling her hair and, a bit curious, opened the cabinet. Perfectly displayed as always, there were many male beauty products, including cologne, everything one needed to shave, and even some things she didn’t know how to use. Yet, in a little pouch, there were a few feminine products, all brand new. Eden took them out, having already understood she was free to use anything. She was so used to going big, like she had been trained at the bar, or doing nothing at all, but when it came to makeup, she struggled to do something natural. Still, she managed to pull it off, and once she was done with only her lips left, she looked her usual self, just a bit prettier and sexier.

She grabbed the lipstick, and began applying it on her lips. It was a darker color than she’d initially thought, something like a raspberry pink. Obviously, each layer would make it darker too, so Eden only applied it on the inside of her lips before spreading it around with her finger until she got an idea. She stared at her reflection in the mirror, and a naughty smile, a bit like that of a certain man she knew, appeared on her lips. A spark of craziness shining in her eyes, Eden applied a couple more thick layers of lipstick on her lips, with a smile.

“Dante!” she called, her heart beating a bit fast.
