“Do you, Eden...” started Rolf, hesitating.

“Newman.”

“Eden Newman, leader of the Edge and daughter of the Architect, agree to take Dante De Luca as your spouse?”

Eden smiled.

“...Deal.”

The Tiger smiled back, pleased. Her answer sent them back to how their relationship had started: a complex, intimate, and dangerous contract. This one didn’t feel very different. They locked their fingers together, already very close.

“Well, I declare you husband and wife. You may…”

Their lips were already in contact before he got to finish that sentence. They kissed each other playfully, ignoring the embarrassed audience. Eden had never thought something so simple would make her so happy. She had a husband. It felt unreal to call Dante her husband, but there she was. It was such a quaint ceremony, but it was more than enough. She would have hated something grand and braggy. Just them, a few witnesses, a pretty dress, and comfy leather boots. She didn’t need more. She only needed him.

“Alright, alright, my loves,” said Jack. “I am all for fun and sex, but we still got a hell of a shitload a’ storm coming right at us, so let’s not jump in bed too soon. Damn, I thought this would be my one chance to get the bride’s bouquet...”

“You can always grab one of those,” chuckled Circé, pointing at the arrangements on the table.

“Oh no, lady. I have my pride. It’s alright. I’ll have the cute beta guy propose to me if I need.”

With that, Jack winked in Rolf’s direction and walked out, stretching and yawning. Circé chuckled, crossing her arms, and turned to the newlyweds.

“Sorry, guys, but we really don’t have much time.”

“We’ll get changed and come down in a minute,” said Eden, trying to elude Dante’s restless kisses, “...or m-maybe a couple.”

“See you downstairs, then. Ten minutes tops.”

Circé and Rolf quickly walked out, taking the puppies with them, and Eden turned to Dante with a smile on her face, answering his kiss.

“Is it better kissing your wife or your bodyguard?” she asked playfully.

He sighed and finally stopped pursuing her with his kisses. He gazed down at her outfit, looking a bit sad.

“I wish you could stay like this the whole day. Or that I could undress you. In bed.”

“I wish so too, but I need to change into something more comfortable if we want a chance to win this. …I’ll put the dress away for later, okay?”

“...I’ll get you a better one.”

“I like this one. It’s custom-made.”

“...I wanted to see you in a real wedding dress.”

“It is a real wedding dress. I was wed in it. Stop being grouchy to stall for time, let’s go get dressed.”

“Hm...”

He didn’t stop pouting, but at least he followed her to get changed. Eden got out of the dress with a bit of regret, took off most of the makeup, and traded Circé’s hairpins for a high ponytail. To her surprise, once she stepped out of the bedroom, Dante, who had changed faster, moved forward and grabbed her hand. He put a ring on her finger and kissed her before she could say a word.

“At least wear this,” he said.

Eden smiled, her eyes going down to the gorgeous piece of jewelry. She had no intention to take it off. It was gold, with little pink diamonds in a shape akin to a flower.

She loved it.

“Finally!” exclaimed Loir once they got downstairs. “My pair of Kitties!”
