“Coming, coming! You know I like to make precise work out of it...”

Eden sighed and put her hands on her hips, getting ready to see a car appear at any moment.

However, what appeared wasn’t quite what she had prepared herself for. Instead of an actual car, a buggy appeared on the rails of the ride. Eden blinked several times, but the lights of the buggy car suddenly lit up, and its engine made a sound like the roar of a tiger, matching the cringey pink and black stripes of its paint.

“...You’ve got to be kidding me.”

“Introducing, for your kitties and gentlemen, the Kitty O’ Ride! A unique piece created by the best designer hacker in the world, subbed me!”

Eden rolled her eyes, but she didn’t have much of a choice... She ran to get inside the strange vehicle. This looked like a mix between a kart and a bumper car, with only one seat, one wheel, and two pedals. As soon as Eden sat down, the car roared again and a belt appeared around her waist.

“What now?”

“Get ready for the riiiiiide!”

The creepy laugh that Loir made after that had Eden wondering if he had finally lost it. The car began moving, and followed the ride’s rails, slightly increasing in speed. It was following the track lines, and Eden realized the original train she had seen was gone, probably deleted by Loir. Meanwhile, hers quickly reached the higher parts of the roller coaster, giving her a view of her surroundings. Since she was safe inside anyway, the car didn’t need to go fast, so Eden could look all around, trying to see her way out.

“There! Loir!”

There was a giant head, like the one she had walked inside on her way in. This was a different one, though. Chances were high that one was the new exit.

“I see it, Kitty. Prepare for the ride!”

“What?”

Eden had just enough time to grab the wheel before the car suddenly accelerated violently on the ride. With a furious roar, the car took the next loop at full speed, making Eden close her eyes, then it did a U-turn, another spin, and suddenly, she felt like the car had gone... off-rail.

“Because tigers can fly!” suddenly yelled Loir.

“Tigers can’t fly!” Eden shouted back.

It was a bit too late, though. The car was already off the rails and diving fast toward the ground below.

CHAPTER FOURTEEN

She wasn’t one to be easily scared, but inside a pink tiger-themed buggy car made in just a few minutes by a crazy hacker, she couldn’t help but close her eyes and scowl. Her vehicle had left the rail in one sudden movement, making her stomach somersault. She seriously hoped her body wasn’t throwing up or something in the real world...

It stayed suspended mid-air, and for a few seconds, Eden was sure it was going to be sent to crash itself into the ground or something. The speed, the height, every ingredient was there for a violent crash...

“Kitties and gentlemen, as we start our descent, please make sure your seat is back in its full upright position. Make sure your seat belt is securely fastened, and your tail and paws are inside the vehicle. We are happy to have you in the Kitty O’Ride today. The local time is probably something like very late and a creepy hour in the night, and the temperature is something around twenty or so. For your safety and comfort, please remain seated with your seat belt fastened until your favorite hacker advises you to jump out of the vehicle.”

Eden let out a long sigh and opened her eyes. Her crazy buggy seemed now to be quietly floating in the air, and upon closer inspection, she found out why: two little wings had appeared on the sides and a parachute above her head, with another cringey cat face on it; it even included ears...

After the fight just before, it was a very strange change of pace to simply glide in the air while it took her to her destination: the giant face she had spotted from the rollercoaster ride. At least, she hoped it was the place she was supposed to go. Underneath her, most of the bots had noticed her leaving the area of the abandoned ride and they had begun trying to follow the flying buggy. Thankfully, Eden still had a little bit of time. That crazy launch off the roller coaster had sent the buggy high in the air and she was still high enough that she didn’t have to worry about those bots for now. Moreover, they were following her by foot, and while Eden was flying in a straight line toward her goal, they had obstacles in their way that would slow them down. Those stupid bots were even bumping and stumbling into one another in the areas where their group was crowded.

“Loir, did you have time to check out that thing? The giant head?”

“Well, Kitty is keeping me busy! I was playing in the sandbox, and now you want me to check this out too? Oh, I’m not paid enough pizza for this...”

“I can raise your salary if that’s all it will take,” chuckled Dante.

“Oh, I really like this Sugar Daddy, Eden, you better be a good Kitty with him. I ain’t going back to the basement. I’m going to stay here and be a pepperoni hoe.”

Eden rolled her eyes. She really needed to teach Loir a thing or two once she got back there...

“I think you’re right, Kitty... This might be your exit ticket.”

“Might be?”
