The wheels begin to turn in my head at the prospect of the options a multi-theatre space like this could afford. I have space for a club or two, and even a restaurant. And in traditional Brandy Collins fashion, it is all high-end material. I do not even want to begin to wonder about the price tag.

As we head back to the lobby, I turn to Michelle.

“Are you sure this is for sale?”

“Positive. Ms. Collins does not linger on her projects, so she was paid up front for this. It’s the family who want it gone and she’s trying to assist them in getting it sold. So, would the Forbes empire be interested?”

I raise my eyebrows and she laughs. “Trust me, Mr. Forbes. You would not be here if you did not have the means. Ms. Collins does not believe in wasting time.”

“How much time do I have?”

“Well, there a few little things to complete, as you can see. I would say within a week or two.”

“Okay. I’ll need to speak with my team, of course. But please let Ms. Collins know that I am interested.”

“Will do.”

“Thank you for accommodating me. I appreciate it.” I shake her hand once more before heading to the elevator.

The trip back to the hotel is a quick one and all that fills my brain is the building I just saw. I text Garfield and Archer immediately. I need them here within the next two days to give their input.

I hurry to the suite to share the good news with Summer only to remember that she is at the pool with Ryan. Without hesitation, I change into my shorts and a tank top before heading downstairs to the pool. It is not hard to spot them splashing in the shallow end of the pool. Ryan sees me first.

“Daddy!” he pulls away from Summer and splashes his way to the steps. She turns and smiles, and it is like a ray of sunlight. I scoop up the wriggling child.

“Summer taught me to float.”

“She did?”

“Yes! Do you want to see?”

Before I can respond, he slides down and jumps back into the pool. I sit and watch them enjoy themselves until we have lunch and head back to the suite to put Ryan down for a nap. I use the time to catch up on some work, looking up only when Summer comes out of his room.

“Asleep?”

“After making sure everything is in its correct place? Yes.”

I smile and shake my head. “If only adults could be as organized as that little kid. Sometimes I feel like he keeps me in check.”

She gives me a small smile as she takes a seat on the couch. “He is a bit OCD for a child.”

“I guess he’ll grow out of it as he gets older. I can imagine the one-eighty when he becomes a messy teenager.”

“Ummm. Lucan. Can I talk to you a little about Ryan?”

“What about him?”

She clears her throat. “I’ve been working with him a while now and I’ve made some observations. What was he like as a baby?”

She now has my full attention. “What do you mean?”

“Ummm. When he was younger. What was he like?”

“Sylvia would be the best person to answer that. She knows him better than I do.”

“But he’s your son.”

“Are you judging my parenting skills?”
