“I’d love to have a look at it.”

“That’s exactly what I told Brandy. And you’re already in Miami Beach. It is literally a few blocks from you. She has a few cosmetic details to complete before it goes up for sale. But if we take a look and are interested in making an offer, we can buy it privately.”

“I’m going to shower now. Send me the address.”

“Okay. I’ll tell her to get your visit cleared with security. Lucan, I really hope this is a good spot.”

“Me too. Send the address and we’ll talk later.”

I hang up and strip. My brain is already going a mile a minute. A theatre. A Brandy Collins designed building. This trip is proving to be more lucrative than I had even imagined. What are the lucky odds?

By the time I come out of the shower, I have the address. I step into the main area and find Summer just coming out of Ryan’s room. Our eyes meet and my heart grows light. I smile and walk over to her.

“Good morning.” I bend and peck her lips lightly. She gives a shy smile.

“Good morning. How are the bruises this morning?”

“You tell me.” I pull her over to the window and sit on the sill which brings me almost to her eye level. I watch as she leans in to run a finger along my cheek and eye. I place my hands loosely on her waist. The thin caftan shows tempting glimpses of her skimpy bikini and I force my hands not to wander.

“It looks worse than I suspect it is. There’s no denying that you were in a fight yesterday. How does it feel, though?”

“Not as tender as I thought it would. What’s Ryan doing?”

“He’s still asleep. I was just checking to see if he was awake for us to go to breakfast and the pool.”

My face falls slightly. “I have another job site to look at, actually.”

Her eyes drop. “I’m not sure I want to leave Ryan with the girls today.”

“Why? Is something wrong? Did something happen?”

“No. No. Everything’s fine. It’s just that I haven’t really been carrying out my duties as his nanny. I feel like a fraud collecting pay for a job I’m not doing.”

“Oh. Okay. Well, I would have loved for you to see this one, but I guess I can go alone. I’ll head down for breakfast and head out. See you later.”

Just because I can’t help myself, I kiss her lightly once more before leaving the suite and heading toward the elevator. A tiny smile tugs my lips upward as I think about Summer and Ryan.

I eat quickly and am soon heading to the location. As we turn the corner and I catch sight of the structure, my mouth drops open. I doublecheck the address Garfield sent and compare it to what I am seeing. A security guard comes to meet us on the curb and directs us to the underground parking facility. He meets me as I step out of the car.

“Good morning, Mr. Forbes. We were told to expect you.”

“Oh?” I raise my eyebrows in surprise.

“Yes. Ms. Collins is very specific with her guests, pictures and all.”

I detect a smirk when he says that. “Your tour guide awaits.”

I follow him to the basement elevator and soon find myself in the building’s lobby. A woman who seems to be in her forties comes forward with a pleasant smile and her hand outstretched.

“Good morning. You must be Mr. Forbes.”

I smile in return. “I must be. And you are?”

“Michelle Green. Brandy’s real estate agent.”

“Pleased to meet you, Miss Green. Shall we?”

I allow her to lead me around the building. To say I am rendered speechless is an understatement. When Garfield said the project was almost complete, he was not joking. All that is needed really is a few tweaks with the space and it is ready for use.
