My lips curve up into a smug grin. I know it will only annoy her further, but I can’t help myself. “You look beautiful, baby.” I take a step closer, only to stop when she freezes and shoots me a look that tells me to stay where I am.

“I am not your baby. In fact, I am not your anything,Bishop, or whatever the hell your name is.” Her voice is a growl, and I want to take her in my arms and hold her close to me. Feel that electricity between us. Breathe in the fresh scent that is unique to her.

“My name is Bishop.”

Aria snorts, a disbelieving look in her eyes. “That’s not what Thalia said.”

Shaking my head, I try to get this conversation back on track. “Princess,” I say softly. Her nostrils flare, and I swear I hear her whimper. My guess is that she is remembering all those times I called her by that name as I pounded into her tight pussy with a hand wrapped around her throat as I showed her who her realdaddywas.

“Don’t call me that.” Her eyes glisten with unshed tears. “What do you want?” She pushes her shoulders back like she is getting ready for a battle.

Deciding to get straight to the point, I pin her with a look and speak. “It’s funny. I saw some pictures of you online…with a child.” Her face pales, and her knees look like they are going to buckle as she grabs hold of the basin for support. She is giving me the answer without saying anything. Not giving a fuck that she doesn’t want me to touch her, I step into her space, grabbing her and holding her still. Leaning in, my lips drop to her ear, and I smile at the way she shivers as my hot breath hits her skin. “Is he mine, princess?” I ask, needing to hear the confirmation from her mouth. A sob bursts free from her, and she shoves me away. Her chest heaves as she stares me down, but I don’t take my eyes from hers. “Is he mine?” I repeat, my tone low.

Aria stares at me for a long beat before she nods and licks her full bottom lip. My eyes dart to the movement, and memories assault me of what that plump flesh tastes like. What they look like wrapped around my thick cock. “Yes,” she murmurs, making my eyes snap to hers. I watch as a range of emotions cross her face, and I am pretty sure mine look the same. Devastation. Hurt. Excitement. Happiness. Just to name a few.

I blow out a breath as a lump builds in my throat. I am a father. And I didn’t fucking know. How much of my son’s life have I missed? “How old is he?”

“Just over ten months.” Her voice cracks, and I know this is as hard for Aria as it is for me.

“Why didn’t you tell me?” Even as I ask the question, I know why.

Aria chuckles, but it’s humorless. “And when would I have done that? Huh? You disappeared, Bishop. Your cell was cut off. I didn’t know where you were or even where I should start looking.” Her voice pitches higher as her teeth clench. Spitfire Aria is back.

I nod. “Fair point.”

“Fair point?” she screeches, stepping into me and shoving me back again. “Youfucking disappeared and destroyed me. We were going to tell my family, bea family, and you just left. Why did you leave?”

I glare down at her. “I did it to protectyou.I did it to save your sister.” I am equally angry. Aria may be pissed, but she doesn’t understand the reasons behind why I did what I did. I may have disappeared, but it’s me that has missed out on my child. I know it’s not Aria’s fault but still.

A knock sounds at the door, making Aria jump as a masculine voice says, “Aria, are you okay in there?”

Her eyes dart to the door, panic crossing her face. “I’m fine, Edward. I just had an accident with the water when I was washing my hands. I will be out in a second.”

“Okay. I will wait outside.”

Aria hits the button on the dryer and pins me with a glare. “Look, I will not stop you from seeing Baron—”

“Baron?” I repeat, cutting her off. “Baron.” I test my son’s name on my tongue.

She sighs. “Yes, Baron. That is our son’s name.” She waves me off. “As I was saying, I will not stop you from seeing him if that is what you want. But if you have any intention of disappearing on him like you did me, then I don’t want you around him at all. It’s not me being a bitch, but he deserves more than a father that is going to flake on him.”

My chest tightens at the protectiveness in her voice. It’s hard to hear, considering he is half of me, but I understand where she is coming from. “I get it. But I am not going to disappear on my own son, Aria.”

Her face tells me she doesn’t believe me, and until I prove myself, I don’t blame her. In her mind, I already let her down. “We can sit down and talk before anything happens. Do you still have my cell number?”

“Yes.”

Her glower asks me why the hell I never used it, and I can’t give her an answer to that. All I know is that I stayed away and was not in contact because I was trying to protect her, and it would not have changed anything if I had called or messaged her. “Call or text me. I am available tomorrow if you have time?”

“I do. I am only in the city to see you.”

She pauses, and I can see the questions swirling in her pretty head. “Okay. I will wait to hear from you then.” She jerks her thumb to the door. “I’d better get going.”

I nod as she moves toward and out of the door, only startling when it slams shut. Scrubbing a palm down my face, I blow out a harsh breath.

I am a father.

I have a son.
