“Would they not come to where the majority of the deities reside, the seat of our power, if they wanted to know our movement and spy on Olympus?” Amphitrite asked.

“Yes.” Hera stood in the middle of the live image and looked around. “I can promise that

demon of a Titan has people here,” she stated, referring to Cronus.

Hera turned to Persephone. “How would someone bypass the gates? Obviously, if they went through Cerberus, they would have been very stringy dog chow. How else could a Titan get down there without a link?”

Persephone shook her head. “They couldn’t. They would have had to gain entrance through someone at the gates or me. Not to mention, they were able to get all the way to Tartarus. It would have to be someone that could move freely through, but even so, how could they do so without me knowing? The moment their foot touched the ground in the Underworld I would’ve known, regardless of who approved their entrance.”

Hera stared at Persephone a moment longer.

“Who has access to the Underworld unhindered?”

The quiet was unpleasant as Persephone’s power rose and chilled the air around them.

“Calm down, Persephone. I am not blaming anyone… directly.” Hera’s eyes moved over to Devon, the temperature dropping further at Hera’s focus on him.

“Devon, tell us of your mother?” Hera asked. The abrupt and off topic subject change had Devon do a double take.

“My mother? What would she have to do with this?” he asked with disbelief in his voice.

“Persephone got a vision from you of your mother having… well, visions. Could she have been

an oracle?”

“Hera, enough…” Persephone started, but Devon only shook his head.

“I have no idea what was going on with her. She left when I was a baby, but in the memory I

had the other day, she said she saw things…” he drifted off in thought.

“Perhaps your father would know?” Hera asked, earning a glare from Persephone, the temperature around them frigid now.

Persephone turned to Devon, sighing she told him what had been discussed, and Persephone had hoped, put to bed. No such luck.

“I have found a way to return your father’s memories for a moment of time. It will not be long and will be completely up to you on whether or not we do this.”

Hera made a small sound of disagreement but held her tongue at Persephone’s withering

glare.

“I have never personally restored memories to a soul, and it is not without consequences. Should you choose to, it may be difficult to ask about your mother, but it would help us if she did in fact see something of use to us.”

Everyone waited as Persephone gave a quelling look to her sisters. Devon needed to work through this without their input.

He finally looked up at her and she saw hesitation and fear in his eyes, but he simply nodded his head.

“I’ll do it.”

Devon felt like his heart was going to beat out of his chest as Persephone took his hand and shadow jumped him to Elysium.

They were right outside a little cottage, something he could imagine being his father’s paradise as it fit the man so well.

People were wandering through a garden near them as they worked to pick fruits and vegetables, placing them in the baskets at their feet. He felt nature all around him and it left a euphoric feeling in his soul.
