“Boyfriend?” Dean asked.

“No, we’re just friends. Aren’t you … worried about your staff? You know, with a killer on the loose.”

“I refused the job at first, but Pete offered more money, and I’ve arranged a minibus to pick us all up after our shift finishes. We won’t be leaving unless everyone is on board.” Dean hesitated. “You’ve got a ride home sorted?”

“Themummydrove us in.”

“That mummy is already on his third drink. He isn’t going to be sober enough to drive you back.”

“Shit.” Chad hissed, finding Josh across the room. Dean was right.

“If you don’t mind waiting an extra hour after closing, I can make sure you get home safely.”

“Why would you do that?”

“Because there’s a killer on the loose,” A crease appeared at the top of Dean’s nose, “And despite being dressed as a monster, I’m not one. I’m a nice guy.”

“Romeo was a nice guy to everyone except the ones he killed.”

“Well, I’m not Romeo Knight. I’m Dean, and I have no interest in killing anyone now, or ever.”

“Thanks, but I’ll get a taxi home.”

“Okay, the offer is there if you want it.” Dean hurried to the other end of the bar to serve the horde of customers. Chad turned around and resumed watching the dancefloor.

Josh and the Red Devil were grinding up against each other.

“Brown hair.”

Chad jumped at Dean’s voice by his ear. “Huh?”

“You’ve got brown hair. I couldn’t tell when you were facing me, but I saw the back of your head. Brown eyes and brown hair.”

“What of it?”

“My Achilles heel.”

Chad didn’t react, and Dean burst out laughing.

“Brown hair, big brown eyes, not a fan of clubbing, or horror, but a lover of Sci-fi. You’re my type, but the question is, am I yours.”

Chad snorted. He only had one type, and Dean wasdressedas him.

“I’ve got a boyfriend.”

“Ah,” Dean said, leaning back. He bit his lip. “Is he here?”

“No.”

“Right…He okay with you being out on your own?”

“I wouldn’t say that.”

Dean gave Chad an odd look.

“I’m happy in my relationship, really happy.”

“Then why are you here without him?”
