Holy fuck, this man went from being a virgin to a sex god with big dick energy. It’s incredibly hot, and is quickly destroying my panties.

“How do you manage to get through your day like a normal person?” Layla asks, staring as Orion walks away.

“What do you mean?” I grin, my arm around her waist so I can stand close enough to hear her.

“They’re always so close to you, touching you, snuggling. How do you get anything done?” she asks in awe.

I laugh, the sound carrying enough that Roark turns towards me with an answering smile. I haven’t had a lot to be happy about recently, so I’m stockpiling all of my happy moments.

“Sometimes I don’t get anything done,” I tell her honestly with a shrug. “Other times I have to bribe them in sexual favors until I’m done.”

Layla giggles, and I ask the question that I’ve been curious about. “You’ve been living on a bus with Atlas and Mav who both have healthy sexual appetites, though they’ve been celibate for a while,” I admit. “Are you telling me there’s been no sex at all?”

Layla sighs, taking a sip of a glass that Jordan hands her with a wink. No one bothered carding her, I notice. Her birthday is in March, so I don’t really see a reason to fuss at her for it. I have zero room to talk, since I bartended while underage.

“Nope, we have been getting to know each other, but I think my age bothers them. They’re both in their early thirties, and I’m very much not,” Layla shrugs. “I wear pajamas to sleep in my bed on the bus, because the one time I didn’t, they locked themselves in the back bedroom for the night. I wasn't trying to be a cock tease, I swear… I was just really fucking hot that night.”

I scowl at my best guy friends, and they catch my eye. Paling, they turn away, and I sigh. “Layla, I think they’re trying to give you space to grow, but they’re doing a terrible job at it. I’ve seen how they look at you, do you want me to talk to them?”

Layla shakes her head. “It's so embarrassing,” she hisses. “I know they like me, but I’m afraid to make any kind of move because they make a big deal about staying away from me. I feel like a fucking pariah at this point. I’m going to die a virgin!”

“They’re being idiots, no matter how much they may mean well,” I confirm as Turner brings me a bottle of water.

I raise my brows at him, and he says, “I’m neurotic, okay? It’s safe to drink, though.”

Grinning, I take a sip and sigh happily. I was thirstier than I expected. “I want to dance… who’s coming with me?” I ask.

“‘Me!” Layla squeals and I pull her with me.

Tesa and Tori see where I’m headed, and follow. A group of us are soon dancing, and we thoroughly ignore the elephant in the room that’s Atlas and Mav. They lean against the bar, watching us and chatting with Orion and Greg.

I’m conflicted on whether to talk to them or continue to give them the evil eye, but decide to let it ride. If they hurt my sister, then I’ll cut off their balls.

There’s several women dancing above us in cages and I watch them, wondering what it would be like to perform high above people. Would it be scary or freeing?

Roark dances behind me, turning me to face him. I happily let him spin me, enjoying how the fringe of my dress twirls with me. I’m officially obsessed with the roaring twenties. This was a pretty great era for clothing.

“Baby girl, do you want to match make as much as I do?” Roark rumbles in my ear as he dances with me.

“I would never!” I gasp, holding my hand to my chest.

His eyes move to my breasts, heating. “Yes you would. No one believes your innocent act,” he chuckles.

“Ugh, okay. I want to box their ears, to tell you the truth,” I confess. “They’re being obstinate.”

Roark tugs me along, walking me to a booth. “Take a break and gossip with me,” he murmurs. “I don’t want your feet to hurt.”

Agreeing, because these black peep toe booties are super cute, but they are not meant for dancing for hours on end. Sitting, he slides in next to me.

“Her age is bothering Atlas and Mav,” I tell him, crossing my legs. “They’re pushing her away, and she’s had enough sheltering in her life. Layla isn’t going to put up with that bullshit, and they’re also hurting her feelings. I doubt they’re doing it on purpose, but—”

“If they’re ignoring that she’s interested, that’ll hurt her,” Roark mutters, his lips twisting. “I don’t think they’ve dated in ages, Lenny. It’s been forever since they even hooked up with someone, because they said it wasn’t fun anymore.”

Nodding, I people watch as I think about it. “Do you know if Atlas and Mav are interested in each other at all? It’s just that it’s a long time to be celibate,” I confess.

As much as they tease me about my sex life, they are pretty private about their own.

“Baby girl, I don’t know, though it would explain some of the aspects of their close friendship. I can’t say though, and it’s unfair to presume,” Roark tells me.
