Just because she’s sleeping, doesn’t mean her nightmares won’t follow her there. Unfortunately, I’m right, and I hold her as she screams.

Orion, Miranda, Turner and Derek appear at the door, staring at us. Only the light in the hallway is on, just dim enough it doesn't bother Lennon.

“Miranda, she’s having nightmares, and earlier she was seeing someone who isn’t here,” I murmur softly.

Orion grunts. “Can I kill them for her?” he asks and I credit Miranda’s grit that she doesn’t move away from him.

“She already did,” I tell him with a sigh. I’m sure Greg already slapped Miranda with an NDA, and if he hasn’t, I’m going to remind him of it.

We don’t need that kind of shit show.

“Collymore better be rotting in hell, if one exists,” I mutter as I watch Lennon twitch in her sleep. “I think her headache isn’t as bad, but she threw up earlier.”

Derek moves before I can think to ask for someone to dump the bucket.

“I’ll take that,” Miranda says, holding out her hand, and Derek hands it to her.

She goes to dump and rinse the bucket and Turner stares at Lennon and I.

“Fucking Xav,” he mutters.

“I’m pretty sure that’s the theme today,” I sigh. “We just need to help her ride this out, but it may be a rough couple of days. I know she wanted to talk to Greg, but Lennon’s going to have to wait.”

Turner nods. “I have photos of an extra crispy hospital when she’s feeling better, and Greg said he’s got prisoners for her when she’s ready. Uh, we also have an NDA for the nurse,” he tells me.

“Fooking hell, it’s like we’re one person sometimes,” I chuckle softly. “I was a little worried about that. The last thing we need is for any of this to be leaked.”

“I would never,” Miranda huffs as she walks back in. Damn. She’s just as quiet as some of us are usually. “Even without the NDA, I would never disclose any of this,” she says as she puts the clean trash can back beside the bed. “Lennon is my patient, and I have some fucking integrity, thank you very much.”

The nurse checks Lenny’s pulse, frowning slightly before releasing her wrist.

“Her pulse is really elevated because of the nightmares. It appears we’re going to have a long few days, gentlemen. Buckle up, and for the record, I do hope she finds closure in whatever way she needs. If Lennon needs to shed some blood to quiet the nightmares, that’s none of my business,” Miranda says softly as she leaves the room.

Orion wrinkles his nose as he watches her go. “She’s not what I expected,” he says. “Most people can tell I’m not normal and shy away, but she didn’t flinch.”

“Are you complaining?” Turner asks honestly, and Derek smirks at something only he sees.

“No, I’m complimenting our bad ass nurse. What’s the plan for the next few days? Lennon is going to be sick for a bit, and it’s bothering me more than I’d generally like to admit,” Orion says, his eyes now locked on Lennon.

At least he’s stopped calling her ‘the girl.’Every time he says that, I want to deck him.

“We’ll take shifts to stay with her,” I murmur, kissing her forehead.

Turner strips his shirt off and drops his pants, and Orion raises his eyebrows in surprise.

“Gimme our girl, Ror. Take a break, catch a shower, and eat. I don’t think you have today,” Turner tells me, and I edge away slowly from Lenny.

“Yeah, I can do that. If her headache comes back, rub the back of her… right here,” I show him where as I speak and he nods.

“Got it, promise. Orion, are you taking rotations, or are you out? If you want Lennon, you take the good and the bad shit too,” Turner lectures, snuggling into bed with Lenny.

Orion blinks once, and he may as well have just broadcasted how gobsmacked he is.

“I’m here for all of it,” he says gruffly. “I don’t want this to be another regret when it comes to Lennon. Let me know when it’s my turn.”

Orion turns and leaves and I shake my head.

“He’s trying,“ Derek says softly and I nod.
