Surely, there’s a woman out there who wants a man who’d do anything to love and please her?

I step inside the huge foyer and smile at the gorgeous, tanned women milling around me.

This might be my best idea yet. That happy thought lasts until I see Raven’s curvy, little figure up ahead of me any my heart lurches in my chest.

Shit! Why the hell doesn’t my body get the memo from my brain because that woman is clearly not interested and totally off-limits.

No way, dick! Stop looking at her. I don’t need that kind of hassle. Her eyes turn my way and there’s that quick shot of desire in those spring-green depths before she turns away. I knew when I got here that there might be trouble from her. But I still wanted to see her in person. Needed to know if what I felt when I saw her was real. I’m just not sure.

Even if she’s too tempting for words. I want forever and it’s obvious she’s just a one-time thing.

But still too damn tempting.

CHAPTER THREE

RAVEN

Iwake from a quick nap and yawn. All these different time zones are taking their toll on my body. I’m not as young as I used to be. I turned 30 two months ago and it feels like there’s something changing. I am not getting the same satisfaction from visiting new places and turning in the next review on the next spot.

It’s all gotten kind of boring.

I jerk my head back and then throw my legs over the side of the bed. The huge ceiling fan over top of me, spins lazily, stirring the tropical air. I got one of the huts to myself. Probably because they knew I was reviewing their resort and they wanted to put their best foot forward. I didn’t bother telling them I just wanted a regular room.

Hell with it! I’m gonna have an actual vacation this time. I grab my computer and start searching for some attractions near me. Kauai is a beautiful island and I’m excited to see it. I’ve never stayed this long in one place so I intend to dive a little deeper into the lifestyle.

I lean back on the couch, stretching my arms over my head and flipping my hair.

There’s a knock at the door and I turn my head, my brows scrunching. I don’t have anybody I’m supposed to meet. I stand and pull down the long t-shirt I slipped into to take a nap.

Sauntering to the door, there’s another knock and I growl as I open the door, “Jeez! Give me a freaking minute, asshole! It’s a damn island. I’m not going anywhere.”

As soon as I swing the door open, Rod’s tall figure jerks upright. His brown eyes roam down me like laser beams, eyeing my bare legs like he’s about to take a bite.

And I want him to, dammit! I want that scruffy beard all over me, just devouring my body like it’s a four-course meal.

I lean against my doorjamb, crossing my arms over my chest until I realize that this pulls the hem of my shirt up. I put them down quickly.

“Rod! What the hell are you doing here? I didn’t think I’d see you again.” At least that was the plan.

He glares at me and stiffens. “I’m sorry to bother you, princess. But I think you accidentally took one of my cases. Our luggage looks the same.”

My dark brow lifts. “Is that the best you can do, Rod?”

“What does that mean?”

“I mean, you could have come up with something better than that if you wanted to see me.”

His jaw drops. “Wow! You sure aren’t subtle, are you, princess?”

I cross one foot over the other. I know I’m acting like a brat but something about this guy brings it out in me. “Do you want me to be?”

“Can you just look and see if you have my bag?” He asks, frustration evident in his voice.

I turn around and head back inside, surprised to see that my bags do actually look like his. Plain brown leather bags. Only difference is that mine are more beat up than his.

And just like he said, there’s an extra bag. My cheeks flush and I groan. Why the hell couldn’t I keep my smart mouth shut?

I drag his smaller bag out to the door and he grunts, pulling it from my hand and knocking me off-balance so that I careen into his broad chest.
