“Yes, I’m fine,” I said, though I was shaking a bit in his grasp. “I just want to go back to my cottage now.”

Bash’s gaze was no longer on me. His eyes narrowed and his jaw clenched. His fists were now balled up at his side.

“We were just talking, weren’t we, Snow?” Hunter said, as if he knew there would be an issue.

“I thought so, at first, but I’m not really sure, Hunter,” I said. I turned to look him in the eye. “In fact, there’s a lot of things I’m not sure about. Like how you know what my favorite foods and flowers are or about my cat. And you damn sure have me thinking it’s more than a coincidence that we are here at the same time.”

“Nonsense. That was just fate.”

Bash and I shared a look.

“But if you want me to leave you alone, Snow, your wish is granted,” Hunter growled as he moved past me. “I can take a hint.”

I waited until I could no longer hear his footsteps.

“I’m going to ask you again, are you okay?”

“Yeah, I think so. It’s just... he’s really creepy.”

“I’m going to talk to the other guys about getting him out of here, but for now, would you like me to escort you back to your cottage?”

“I’d like that very much.” I hated feeling weak and scared. I didn’t want to be a damsel in distress that needed these guys to swoop in and save me, but I was grateful not to be walking alone.

As we stepped onto the main path, I had to ask Bash, “How did you know to come find me?”

He pointed to some windows nearby. “My little reading corner in the library overlooks this view,” he said. “And I happened to see the two of you. I messaged Gage, but I was closer. Speak of the devil…”

He trailed off and I turned to find Gage running in our direction with Reed behind him.

“Where is he?” Gage asked, his face twisted in fury as he looked around.

“He left, likely went back to his cottage,” Bash said.

“I’m going to find that fucker,” Gage replied. He turned his eyes to me and they softened. “I’m sorry I failed you, I thought you were still in the club and was looking for you there.”

“It’s fine,” I said, placing a hand on Gage’s arm. “I had a phone call I needed to take and hurried out.”

Gage still looked torn up about leaving me.

“We’ll deal with Hunter, I think it’s high time that we send him packing,” Reed said.

I didn’t argue with them. I was tired of playing nice with Hunter. If it affected my job, so be it. I’d deal with the fallout later, but truth be told, I didn’t feel safe with him around.

I reached down to my wrist.

“Crap,” I muttered.

“What is it?” All three guys asked at once.

“I lost my bracelet. It was loose and I was playing with it in the club earlier, it probably fell off there.”

“I’ll let Jason know to keep an eye out for it and I'll deactivate it right now. We can get you a new one tomorrow. For now, Bash, can you walk her back to her room and use your master key?”

Bash nodded.

“Gage, I think it’s best if I handle Hunter,” Reed said, speaking slowly and carefully.

Gage didn’t acknowledge what his friend had said—he was on a warpath, that much was clear.
