Leave it to Rosie to make me laugh even in the most stressful of times.

“Yeah, or that whoeveristhe father feels the same way he does. I just hope that they won’t want to fight for full custody because they have a lot of money and will surely win in a court battle.”

Rosie was quiet for a second. “Let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves here. What does your gut tell you? Do you think it’s a good idea to tell them?”

“I think so, it’s the right thing to do, right?” I asked.

“Yes, it’s the right thing to do, but now you have me worried that they might try to take the baby away,” she said.

“Ugh. You saying that has me worrying about it even more than I already was.”

“I’m sorry,” Rosie said. “It’s just that I know less about the guys than you do and you planted that thought in my head.”

“I know. I don’t think any of them would do that. I just wish I knew them better and could say for certain.”

“Here’s your chance to get to know them,” Rosie said. “You know I don’t mind watching Petey as long as necessary for you to sort all of this out. Think about what you’re going to say and how you want to approach it; you can tell them once you have a better grasp on things.”

“I hear what you’re saying and that’s a good idea, but I still feel like I’m lying to them by omission. I don’t want to get too intimate with this big secret hanging in the air.”

“I understand, but just take it slow, Snow. Take your time.”

“Like I should have done before? Yeah, as you can tell, I’m not very good at taking things slow.”

We both chuckled at that one.

“It’s going to be okay,” Rosie kept reassuring me.

I knew she was right. One way or another, I would make it through. I rested my hand on my belly and thought about the life growing inside of me. I would fight for my baby and give them the world. I already loved him or her and I had only known about their existence for a few hours.

“Thank you, Rosie. You always know how to make me feel better. I hope things turn around for both of us.”

I hung up the phone, and my eyes threatened to close as I was sitting on the couch. But no, I wanted to get up to that comfy bed and collapse. I felt like I might sleep for the next fourteen hours.

Before I could convince myself to get up off the sofa, there was a knock at the door.

“It’s us,” a voice called from the other side. Since he said “us,” I assumed there were at least a few of them. Word clearly got around fast that I was there.

I managed to peel myself off the couch, and as I walked toward the door, the adrenaline of seeing everyone again kicked in.

I was truly excited to be back.

“News travels fast around here!” she exclaimed as she opened the door to find several of us standing there.

“What can I say? You’re popular around here,” I said, holding up a bottle of champagne. “And we wanted to celebrate your return!”

“Oh wow, come on in,” she said, opening the door wider. I was the first one inside, followed by Bash, Gage, and Anthony.

She hugged me when I came inside and I whispered, “It’s so good to see you again.”

“It’s good to see all of you too,” she said, her eyes sparkling as she stared up at me with possibly the brightest smile I had ever seen in my life. She was so beautiful. Part of me wanted to be alone with her, just the two of us. I wanted to get to know her better, and not just sexually. Hopefully we would be able to make that happen this time around.

Anthony was carrying the champagne glasses, and he placed them on the coffee table before hugging Snow tightly. They shared a sweet smile. Anthony had actually stopped working so he could visit her which said a lot about how much he liked her.

She hugged Bash next. Bash was a hopeless romantic and had brought her roses, too. She blushed as she took them from him.
