“Not a single one. I’m one hundred percent certain I’m making you Mrs Alistair Warner today.”

Dani’s smile lights up her whole face.

EPILOGUE

My hands shake as I place them in Alistair’s. I can’t believe we’re doing this. We are actually getting married. I know my own hang-ups about weddings have kept us from doing this sooner. Which is kind of funny, considering Alistair was the cynical ‘never getting hitched’ type and I was the hopeless romantic.

As soon as he decided he was marrying me, he hasn’t wavered on his decision. I kept waiting for him to change his mind. Not once has he indicated that he doesn’t want to do this with me. Even after Ellie was born. We’d be up in the middle of the night with her, and he’d be asking me when we could get married and have more babies. He’s the perfect father. Ellie has him wrapped around her little finger and they both know it.

I look over to my mum, who’s holding our daughter. She smiles up at me. I blow Ellie a little kiss before returning my focus to Alistair.

“You look fucking beautiful, Dani,” he says.

“Thank you. You’re not too shabby yourself,” I tell him.

The ceremony passes by in a blur, and before I know it, Alistair is kissing me and the celebrant is proclaiming us husband and wife.

“I can’t believe we did it. We’re actually married,” I say while looking up at Alistair.

“We are. You’ve made me the happiest man in the world, Dani. I love you. I will always love you,” he replies before capturing my lips with his.

The crowd cheers for us.

I break the kiss, walk over, and grab Ellie from my mum. “Thanks,” I tell her and pull her in for a hug. Then I turn to my dad. “Thank you, Daddy,” I whisper into his ear.

He tries to hide the tears that are shining in his eyes. “I’m happy for you, Dani. You deserve all of this happiness and more.”

Alistair wraps his arm around me. “It’s not over yet, babe. We have a party and then you, me, and Ellie are going on our honeymoon.”

“We’re taking a one-year-old on our honeymoon?” I ask him.

“Well, I wasn’t about to leave her behind.”

“Good, because I don’t think I could either.” I lean up on my tiptoes and kiss him.

“This is just the beginning of our forever, Dani,” he tells me.

“And I couldn’t have wished for a better beginning,” I say with a smile.
