“I did what I had to do.”

“Why?”

“I wanted it all. I was to have it all, Costa. I was never meant to be by his side. I was meant to be the leader of it all,” I hiss at him. Costa looks between my now-dead father on the floor and me as if he has no idea what to do.

“You killed him slowly.”

“Poison.”

“And me?” he asks cocking his head to the side to look at me now.

“What about you? I promised Delaney I wouldn’t kill you but plans change, Costa. You helped him. Why?”

“You can’t be trusted. You killed your brother,” he tells me.

“And that meant what to you? She still married a Bianchi.”

“He said you would turn on us. That you would ruin everything,” he tells me.

“And did I? Did I ruin things?” I ask him. He shakes his head, unsure of what to say. He doesn’t know how to handle this situation which tells me my father was the leader.

“This is a mess, Luka.”

“You let Delaney go,” I demand him. He looks up at me and the men restraining me.

“You’re not in any position to tell me what to do,” he says.

“Am I not? Would you like to be next?” I ask, nodding toward my father’s lifeless body. Costa glances over before looking back at me.

“My money, Luka.”

“Can be returned,” I tell him.

“Then return it.”

“Give me Delaney,” I tell him. He motions to someone behind me, and I can hear footsteps leaving the room. Then there’s nothing but silence. Silence I created.

“You killed him,” he states softly.

“Should I have let him kill me first?” I ask. Before I know what’s happening, Delaney runs into the room, slamming into me. She wraps her arms around my waist and holds on tightly as she sobs.

“I didn’t think you wanted the wedding, and now here you are holding him,” Costa says. Delaney doesn’t pull away or turn to look at him. In fact, she ignores everything he has to say. Delaney pulls away and reaches up, cupping my face in her hands. She wipes the blood from my lip and smiles at me.

“You’re okay,” she whispers.

“I’m okay.”

“Delaney, step away from him,” Costa demands.

“You don’t get to tell me what to do anymore. This is my husband,” she snaps before looking at the mess I made. She looks down at my father before glancing back over at me. I just shrug.

“You see what he’s capable of? You still want him?” Costa roars as he points at my father’s lifeless body on the floor.

“He did what needed to be done,” she tells him before stepping closer to me. I pull at my arms, but the guys aren’t letting go. If one of them lays a hand on Delaney, I will kill them all. They will all feel my wraith.

“You’re as sick as he is,” he hisses at her. She doesn’t respond, and I’m happy about that. Delaney has nothing to say to him. Nothing at all. She’s mine now.

“You stole my money,” Costa says once more.
