“Yeah.”

“Good. Gainesville PD isn’t too happy that we’re gonna be travelin’ up there.”

“Why not? They mad they can’t do their jobs?” Griz asks.

“I bet they are,” Trek adds.

“Somethin’ like that. They don’t want any heat from their local MC.”

“I don’t really give a shit about their local MC,” Demon snaps, causing us to chuckle. “The fact that they aren’t doin’ anything about this shit tells me all I need to know,” he adds.

“Heard that. We can handle it. What are we lookin’ at?” Rage asks as he leans forward, resting his elbows on the table in front of him.

“They aren’t keepin’ girls local. They’re hittin’ younger kids. Eight to ten-year-olds,” Drake reports causing my stomach to churn. Those are just kids. Little kids at that.

“That makes me fuckin’ sick,” I growl. The guys all grunt in their agreement. Fucking kids!

“That’s why we need to move quickly.” I nod my head. I agree with that.

“Do we have any intel?” Trek asks.

“We know there’s one house that many of the guys stay at. As I said, they don’t keep anyone that they snatch locally. They move them out right after grabbin’ them,” Drake tells us.

“That means we go after the assholes grabbin’ them,” I say.

“Yeah. We hit them and hit them hard. We gotta watch our asses on this one. Local PD isn’t as friendly as ours. They don’t like us bein’ on their turf,” Demon adds.

“Hit those motherfuckers too, then. Fuck them,” I state before grabbing my beer and taking a long pull.

“We don’t kill cops unless we have to. I don’t think they will get in our way on this trip. Their local MC is another story. They see us rollin’ in, and that may be all they need to unleash on us.”

“Fuck them. We can take them.”

“I think so too. I’d prefer to get in and out without havin’ to do that. The less carnage we leave lyin’ around, the better.”

“Makes sense,” I agree, although I don’t care if I have to take some motherfuckers down while we’re up there.

“We leave in an hour,” Demon says. Good. I’m ready to head up there and handle business. I’m ready to take down some more of these motherfuckers. My heart beats a little faster, knowing I could return and Raven isn’t here. I don’t want her to leave just yet. I want to keep her around for as long as I can. Demon ends our meeting, and we stand to leave the room. I spot her as soon as I walk out of the room. She’s standing at the bar with a drink in hand and a smile.

“You talk to her?” Rage asks, stepping up next to me.

“Yeah. She still wants to go,” I tell him, even though that pisses me off. I don’t want her to leave. Ever.

“Nothin’ you can do then, brother.”

“Nope. Not a damn thing. She’s hell-bent on revenge for what happened to her. She won’t go into details, but from what I can gather, it’s dangerous.”

“Fuck. You wanna talk to Demon about keepin’ her here? Maybe in the basement?” I chuckle because the thought of locking her up has crossed my mind a few times. That would keep her here and safe at the same time. But I know Raven wouldn’t go for it. And who the hell am I to tell her she can’t leave?

“I thought about that, but the girl is hardheaded. She wants to go, and there’s nothin’ I can do to stop her,” I tell him.

“You tell her you wanted her here?”

“More than once, brother. Doesn’t change the facts.” He nods his head before running his hand through his hair.

“Well, fuck. Wish there was somethin’ I could do. Want me to talk to her?”

“No. Raven needs to stay on her own. If she doesn’t want to, then that’s on her.”
