“You gonna be okay with lettin’ her go?” I shake my head. I’m not going to be okay with letting her go. I want her here, with me.

“Fuck, no. I want her here, Rage. I want her with me, but that’s not really an option at this point.”

“Tie her ass to the bed,” he chuckles.

“The thought has occurred to me,” I laugh with him when she turns her head and looks over at me. Her smile could light up a fucking room, and it does. She lights up everything around me.

“Fuck,” I mumble under my breath. Rage slaps a hand on my shoulder before he walks over to Badger. I stand here in stunned silence, just looking at her. Taking her in. I can’t do much more. I can’t keep her. She made that much clear to me.

Finally, Raven walks over to me and passes me a beer. I smile as I take it and take a long pull.

“You gonna be here when I get back?” I ask her.

“When are you leaving?”

“In an hour.” My heart beats faster. What if she does leave? What do I do then?

“I’ll be here.” A breath escapes me, one I didn’t realize I’d been holding when she uttered the words.

“We’ll be gone overnight. We’re not stayin’ up there, but it’s still gonna be a while before we get back. Wait for me in my room?” She nods her head, biting her lip between her teeth. There’s something sexy about the way she does that. There was a line I shouldn’t have crossed with Raven, but now that I have, I don’t see turning back.

“I’ll be here, Cross. Don’t worry,” she assures me. I use my free hand to cup her cheek and press a kiss to her lips. Then her tongue slides into my mouth, and everything else seems to disappear. I can’t say I don’t like either because I do. If I could get lost in this girl forever, I think I would.

“I need to get ready,” I tell her, pecking one last kiss on her lips. That’s when I hear her. Cara.

“What the hell is going on?” she screams so the whole building can hear her. I pull away from Raven and turn to look at Cara. She’s angry, which she has every right to be.

“What are you doin’ here?”

“Are you serious?” she asks, sounding pissed that I’d even ask her.

“Yeah. I texted you and told you I had shit to do,” I tell her.

“I see what you had to do! Her!” She squeals, pointing at Raven. Raven doesn’t move or slink away, though. She stands her ground, keeping her head held high.

“I have a job to do, Cara. We can talk about this later.” I turn on my heel to head back to my room when I feel something hit me in the back of the head. When I turn, I see Cara’s shoe lying on the floor behind me while she stands with the other in her hand.

“You’re a lying cheater!” she screams as she throws the other shoe. The guys laugh, and so do the girls. Raven covers her mouth, trying to hide her laughter, but it does little good. Cara’s eyes move to her before she screeches and rushes toward her. Raven’s ready for her.

They collide in a flurry of hands and hair. Cara is pulling Raven’s hair, but Raven doesn’t fight back. She just takes it as it comes. Rage rushes over and pulls Cara away from her before I grab Raven and shove her behind me.

“That’s enough, Cara! I was breakin’ up with your ass anyway!” I scream so she can hear me.

“Oh, I bet you were! You cheating bastard!”

“I’m sorry. I won’t say that it just happened. I did what I did,” I tell her.

“I hate you, Cross. I hate you!” Cara cries before shaking herself out of Rage’s arms and rushing toward the door.

“Well, that went better than I thought it would,” I mumble.

“She left her shoes,” Cheryl laughs as she picks them up off the floor.

“That was interesting.” Raven states. I spin around to check on her, and she stares up at me.

“It was somethin’.”

“I’m sorry,” she says.
