“The girls will be happy,” I add.

“Yeah, they will. You bringin’ Cara?”

“Probably not. She’s gotta work, brother.” Drake nods his head in understanding. Is it wrong of me that I don’t want her there? I want more time with Raven. I want to spend this time with her before she decides she wants to leave.

“Then let’s get to it. Let’s hit the beach house,” Demon announces before standing from the table and taking his beer with him. He walks out of the room, and the rest of us follow. I spot her at the bar, passing out drinks to some of the guys. She looks up at me and smiles when I drop my ass onto a stool, and fuck do I like that smile.

“You want something?” Raven asks.

“You.”

“Where’s your girlfriend?” I shake my head at her.

“You know the deal, Raven.”

“Don’t talk about her,” she retorts.

“Exactly. We don’t need to talk about her. We need to talk about this trip we’re goin’ on.”

“A trip?” she asks as I nod my head. “Where are you going?”

“We. We’re goin’.”

“Where are we going?” she smiles, and my heart beats a little faster.

“To the beach house. Demon wants us all to take a little break.”

“And you want me there?”

“Of course, I want you there.”

“Why?”

“Why not? You deserve this more than anyone else,” I tell her. Her eyes begin to glisten, but she blinks the tears away as she nods.

“I’d like that,” she replies softly. I reach across the counter and cup her cheek in my hand.

“Good, I’m glad.”

“Are you sure you don’t want her there instead?”

“I said I wanted you there, Raven.”

“What is this between us?” she asks. I don’t know how to answer that, so I don’t. I don’t know what this is or what the hell I’m doing with her. I just look at her and close my eyes. “It’s okay. I get it.”

“You can’t get it because I don’t, Raven. I don’t know what this is,” I admit. I know I feel something for her, but I have a fucking girlfriend. I know this is a complete mess, but I can’t see letting her go. When I need something, I run to her. I run to Raven. Where does that leave Cara and me? Ignoring the issue, for now, I refocus on Raven.

“Thank you for inviting me.” I nod before pulling my hand away from her and grabbing my beer. I take a long pull before setting the bottle back on the bar in front of me. Raven slides me a shot which I take down quickly.

“We’re gonna have fun,” I tell her.

“Are we?”

“Yeah. We are. The beach house is massive. It’s damn near a hotel,” I tell her.

“Private beach?” she asks, hopefully as I nod. “Seriously?”

“Yeah, there’s seriously a private beach. The guys like to keep things private,” I explain.
