“You think you do?”

“I feel so much for you, Cross. I feel like I can’t breathe when you aren’t next to me. I feel like I’m lost when you’re not here. This need I have for isn’t normal.”

“I love you too, Raven.”

“What?”

“I love you too.”

“Are you sure?” he chuckles and cups my cheeks in his hands.

“I’m sure. I feel out of control with you. I feel like I’m losin’ my goddamn mind when you’re not next to me. I think that’s part of why I’ve been actin’ like this. You make me crazy,” he tells me, and my heart leaps in my chest. I reach up and wrap my hands around the back of his neck and pull his lips to mine. That’s what I needed to hear. Something settles inside of me.

“Thank you,” I whisper against his lips.

“Don’t thank me. I’m still a little fucked in the head,” he says.

“I don’t care. You can mark me in whatever way you want to. I don’t care, Cross. I just need you.”

“And I need you.”

Chapter Twenty-One

Cross

I pick at the label on my beer bottle as I listen to Demon talk about the Blue Hawks. I hate that they killed Rafe, and I know that things will have to happen to avenge his death. I’m ready for it. I’ve been ready for it.

“Either we lure them down here or head back to Augusta. That’s our option. Liam is still missin’, and I can only guess they got to him,” Demon says.

“You think he’s dead?” Griz asks.

“Hard to say what they wanted from him. I don’t know what to think at this point.”

“I say we hit them at their home. Make it personal like they did us. Killin’ Rafe made it personal, yeah?” I chime in. Trek and Rage both nod their heads, agreeing with me.

“They did make it personal. We vote on it. Go after them in their territory?” Demon asks before going around the table. Everyone agrees with hitting their home, and I thank god for that. We don’t need any other drama around here. We have had enough of that. Going after them there is better. It’s smarter.

“That’s settled then. We go after them there.”

“When?” Rage asks. I know he’s as ready as anyone to head that way and make things right.

“Soon. I’ll look into a few things and get back to you guys,” he tells the room. We all grunt and nod our agreement before he ends church. I stand to my feet and follow the guys out of the room, grabbing my cell as I go.

“I’m ready now,” Rage growls as I chuckle.

“Gettin’ a little bored?” I ask.

“Somethin’ like that. I just need to do somethin’.”

“I know that feelin’ all too well. Why don’t you take a break with your little girl?”

“We had the time at the beach house. I need to get my hands dirty now.”

“Heard that. The time will come, brother.” He nods his head before he walks off toward Badger. That’s when I feel hands slip around my waist. I turn my head and see Raven smiling up at me.

“Why are you so happy?”

“Is there a reason I shouldn’t be?” Just as I’m about to answer her, all hell breaks loose. The front door flies open, and in struts the last person I thought I’d ever see.
