Ihadn’t spoken to Rhys or Grace since they left for their date. All night, I seethed about how much I wanted her. And how I couldn’t let Rhys have her all to himself.

She was mine.

I felt a deep longing for Grace, unlike anything I had ever felt for another woman. But I valued my place among The Devil’s Knights too much to risk it. If Fitzy were to find out about my feelings for her, he would use them to crush both of us.

So I left before they were awake and drove into the city to meet Drake. I would start working with him at Battle Industries at the end of the summer, and I needed to get the lay of the land.

I drove beneath the monstrous glass building with a giant satellite on the roof and gave my keys to the valet. Then I met with Drake’s private security team and got a keycard, employee badge, and access codes.

Regular employees didn’t have this kind of access. But given our relationship and The Lucaya Group breathing down Drake’s neck, all this extra security was necessary.

I got into the elevator and inserted the special keycard into the slot on the wall. A panel opened and allowed me to enter the passcode that would take me to the hidden fifty-first floor. No one knew it existed, apart from Drake’a head of security and a handful of trusted people.

By the time the doors opened into a lobby, my ears popped again from the pressure.

“Drake,” a woman said in a sultry tone. “My brother will kill you.”

Her voice carried from the office at the end of the hall with the door open. Drake bent a brunette woman over his desk. It looked like Olivia Maxwell from this angle, but I couldn’t see her face.

Tate would have killed Drake. After Tate caught them kissing, he made Drake promise not to touch her again. He didn’t want his feelings for Olivia to ruin their friendship. And to my knowledge, Drake hadn’t kissed her since.

His hand slid down her back and over her ass. “One night with you would be worth it.”

Olivia giggled. “You only want me because you can’t have me.”

“Hmm.” He cupped her ass with his hands. “Is that so, Miss Maxwell?”

Another laugh as she looked over her shoulder at him. “Are we back to formalities when you have your hands on my ass?”

Drake must have heard my shoes hit the tile because he dropped his hands from Olivia’s body and glanced over his shoulder. “Oh, hey. I didn’t hear you come up the elevator.” He ran a hand through his dark hair to sweep it off his forehead. “I was a little busy.”

I smirked as our eyes met. “Yeah, I heard.”

He tugged on his tie and winked.

As I entered the office, Olivia turned around and fixed the red dress, pulling it down her legs. Drake liked bigger girls with thick thighs, curves, and big tits. My cousin had a type, and Olivia fit the bill.

“Liv, you remember Cole.”

She pressed her lips together and nodded. “Nice to see you.”

“You, too.”

Olivia looked at Drake, sharing a moment that didn’t need words. “I’ll give you some space. If you need me, call my cell.”

He stared at her ass until she disappeared into the elevator.

I closed the distance between us, one eyebrow raised in question. “Were you about to fuck her?”

Drake shook his head before sitting behind his desk. “No. Of course, not. I would never do that to Tate. But…” He scrubbed a hand through his dark brown hair and sighed. “I want to. Not a single day has gone by the past five years that I haven’t wanted her.”

I understood how he felt. Not having Grace was killing me.

“Then why did you hire Olivia to be your assistant?”

He leaned back in the leather chair. “She was already living in my house with Tate. And when she couldn’t afford her student loans, I offered to pay them if she agreed to work for me for one year.”

Olivia was fiercely independent and would never take money from Drake. When she applied to college, he said he would pay for her to attend any college of her choosing. But she wanted to do it on her own without his help. He had already done so much for her.
