“Are you okay?” Ana asked.

“Define okay.” I shook my head. “I’m so far from being okay.”

“What’s the plan?” Kujo asked no one in particular.

“Once we find out Brandt’s condition, we’ll go from there,” Erik told him. “I have Tank closing down his shop early and heading over to the clubhouse to wait there with Archer.”

“Where is she?” I heard Hunter call down the hall.

I glanced up just in time to see Aleks point in my direction, and Hunter move like a man on a mission.

Headed straight toward me.

When he was within arm’s length, he reached out and grabbed my wrist, tugging me into him. Then, with his other hand he grasped my neck and smashed his lips to mine in a punishing kiss. He put all of his emotions into that kiss, and I couldn’t believe he just marched right up to me, and without a care to who was around us.

“So that just happened,” Brax commented as he glanced around the room filled with my family.

“Quiet,” Dimitri told him. “If they don't hear us, we might get a show.”

“Assholes,” Hunter muttered as he pressed his lips to mine for the third time. “I thought it was you.”

I directed my attention to Brax, hoping he would explain further.

“Don't look at me,” he said, holding his hands up in surrender. “I told the new guy to text him.”

My gaze swung to Dimitri. “What the hell did you text?”

“He said Hellcat is covered in blood and we’re on our way to the hospital,” Hunter explained with a scowl, not removing his arm from my waist.

“It was true,” Dimitri argued. “Besides, it finally got you to admit your feelings.”

“Fuck feelings,” Hunter replied. “I almost wrecked my ride, trying to get here before it was too late.”

“I guess when you say it that way, I'm sorry.”

Kujo walked up to Hunter, standing two feet away in an intimidating stance.

“You and I are gonna have words,” he warned him. “If my brother wasn't in surgery in the other room, I would put you there for touching something you shouldn't have.”

“I'm not leaving her.”

“We'll see about that,” Kujo told him, then walked away.

“Let me go see if the nurse has something you can put on,” Brax told me softly.

“Blood doesn't bother me,” I told him.

“I think it would make your brothers more comfortable. Not to mention all the others in the waiting room.”

“I have a change of clothes out in Kujo’s Escalade.”

We all had a change of clothes in the vehicles, just in case shit hit the fan. But I had never expected the night to end like this—covered in my brother’s blood instead of an enemy's.

ChapterTwenty-Five

HARLEIGH

“What the fuck?”Erik yelled into his phone. “What do you mean, there was a fire?”
