“He’s the same guy who was undercover with the Crows. What if he’s the reason we’re in lockdown?” he accused.

“He’s not,” I argued, hoping they’d trust me.

Although part of me understood why they didn’t. I’d had shit luck with the men I chose to spend my time with. Dirk the jerk had been enough of a headache. When I disappeared, he dropped off the face of the planet again. Who knew where he had fucked off to. Either way, good riddance. Hopefully, he crawled back into the hole he came out of.

“Yah, right.”

“What isyourproblem?” I seethed.

“Your blind choices to date men who could or have caused problems for the Reapers.”

“You’re out of line,” Hunter interjected.

“And the only reason you’ve found your spine is because you’ve been fucking our sister behind our backs.”

Erik abruptly cut in, shaking his head, “This isn't the place—”

“Of course it is! Hellcat has been at the centre of everything that’s been going on lately. From Dirk to her alliance with the Andretti family.”

“Who I’m having sex with hasno placein this room.”

“Except when it comes to allowing a cop to move into the clubhouse,” he argued.

“Take a walk!” Erik bellowed and pointed at the door.

“But—”

“Learn to read the room,” Erik responded.

Kujo jumped up from the table, the sound of his chair scraping against the floor echoing through the room as he stormed out. A few moments later, the room was filled with the sound of splintering wood.

“Now for the rest of you. It doesn’t matter who Hellcat is screwing. I also shouldn’t need to explain my reasoning for Brax to move in, becausehe ismoving in.”

I addressed the room. “I know you’re all going to have reservations over Brax moving in and still being a cop. We’ve discussed this in length. Even though the best course of action would be for him to quit, there are benefits of him staying on the force. Especially right now.”

“If it doesn’t work out, he’ll leave, but this was my stipulation for him to join the Reapers.”

“It’s not my story to tell, but let’s just say he’s questioning his loyalty. After being undercover he’s finding it hard to reacclimate to being a cop and he’d rather be on our side fighting the way we fight.”

“There will undoubtedly be some problems, but this is how it’s going to be,” Erik added.

“Now for the main issue on all of our minds. We’re in lockdown, so that means there will likely be more women and children around. We’ll try to keep the children away from the bar in the evenings, but during the day, it’s going to be a free for all. That way they don’t drive their parents batty.” I told the group.

“We hope it won’t last long, but until we figure out what’s going on, we won’t know,” Erik added. “I’m estimating a couple of weeks.”

“Do we have any idea who attacked Brandt?” Gunner asked. “Or who planted the drugs and called the cops?”

“Brandt was attacked by some low level drug dealers who had been using his parking lot for their deals,” I responded. “When he kicked them out, they retaliated.”

“What are we going to do about it?” Tank asked.

“We’re gonna make them pay,” Hunter told them.

Everyone around the table nodded in agreement.

“Is there any other business we need to discuss?” Erik asked.

“I’d like to remind everyone about the upcoming event for Bikers Against Child Abuse,” I announced to the room. “It’s scheduled for a month from today.”
