We might be assholes, but there was one thing I was sure of.

We were all in.

Hell, I was all in from the moment I met her.

When Alexei told me he was taking me to stay with a biker gang, I thought he’d lost it. Why, of all places, would he think I’d fit in better with a bunch of bikers? I’d been dragging my feet since Granville. Didn’t see any reason I would want to move away from the only life I’d known.

When I saw her, the first thing I thought was she was hot, but then I dismissed it by imagining she was probably some airhead biker slut. Not that there was anything wrong with women who wanted to fuck just as much as men. But the last thing I wanted was some woman who was searching for a way to climb the ladder.

Then Sergei, one of Alexei’s guards, had called her exactly what I had been thinking. I’d felt like a prick having my thoughts voiced out loud. Especially because I couldn’t stop thinking about getting to know her better. Oh, but when she whipped out the perfect reply in Russian, as if she’d been speaking it forever.

It instantly made me hard.

The look on Sergei’s face when she called him out.

Priceless.

It was also the moment I knew I had to have her, and when I saw the way Hunter wanted her just as bad, I weaselled my way into her life.

By being her fake boyfriend.

The benefits didn’t hurt either.

But now I wanted more than just the benefits, and it didn’t matter that I had to share her time with the other two assholes in her life.

As long as I had a piece of her, that was enough.

So when I found those assholes having a drink in the bar, I told them, “The two of you are gonna show up at this address in a couple of hours.”

“Are you gonna try to kill me now and hide the body?” Brax asked.

“No, I’m trying to make this oddball trio fucking work.”

“Why?”

“‘Cause she needs it to,” I responded. “She doesn’t believe she’s worth it.”

“When did you become such a pussy?” Hunter asked.

“Probably the moment she fucked him,” Brax responded. “Happened to me too. Don’t even try to deny she hasn’t got to you too. Out of all of us, she’s had her hooks into you from day one.”

Exactly what I was saying earlier.

“And don’t be fucking late.”

She had me by the balls, and I didn’t fucking care.

ChapterThirty-Three

HARLEIGH

People were talkingabout the warehouse fire in the industrial area.

According to the news, three people were dead.

Based on surveillance footage pulled by the police, they were identified as lower level scumbags. They should have been more careful about who they hurt with their sketchy shit. I might have been a bit rash with my actions, but it wasn’t like I could go back and change anything.

So when Dimitri all but dragged me from my room to the parking out back, I welcomed the distraction.
