“Evenin’, does anyone need any refills over here? I want to be sure I get you ladies taken care of before some of the guys in here drink everything,” I teased. I said it loud enough for the guys around us to hear.

“Hey, don’t be giving our precious alcohol away to the women. You know they don’t need it as much as we do,” Coyote called out from the pool table. He was playing a game against Bandit.

“You’re right. You do. It might improve your pool playing if you did get drunk,” Talia yelled back. This got the rest laughing.

Coyote was quick to try and defend himself. “Hey, there’s no need to be mean, Wildcat. Not everyone is as bloodthirsty as you. Razor, can’t you control your woman?”

“I don’t try to control her. I just clean up the mess and handle her light jobs, so be warned. It’s me you’ll be facing, not her.”

This got more hoots and hollers at Razor’s implication. I left them to have a battle of wits while I waited to see if anyone wanted something. I pointed to the almost empty bottle of soda in front of Tonya.

“Can I get you another or would you like to try something else?”

“Actually, a bottle of water would be great. I’ve had enough sweet stuff,” she said softly.

Sniper walked up and slung his arm around her shoulder. He grinned down at her. I stiffened seeing him touch her. I didn’t like it. His words I liked even less.

“Hey, sweetheart, you can never have too much sweet stuff. Take me for instance. I’m always on the menu.”

She gave a tiny laugh and shrugged off his arm. I didn’t laugh. Instead, I narrowed my eyes at him and bared my teeth. He caught my killer glare and stepped away. He didn’t say another word. He just turned and walked off. I watched him until he was across the room. When I turned back to look at the table, Soleil was watching me intently. I gave her my best bland look.

“I’ll get you that water. What about the rest of you?”

There were a couple of other orders made. I hurried to get them. After delivering them, I didn’t have a reason to linger, so I went behind the bar again. I was wiping it down when Sniper came over to me. He glanced around before speaking.

“Listen, I was only playing around with Tonya. I didn’t mean to step on your toes. I had no idea you and she had anything going on.”

“We don’t. I just think she should be able to relax here and not be hit on. If she wants that, she can go into town and go to a bar.”

“She could, but I don’t see that as being her. Word of warning though, if the wind does blow in that direction, don’t waste time. We never know if we’ll have another day in this life. Don’t assume. If you wait, you could be dead or someone else might sweep in and take her out from under you. That’s all I’m saying. Now, I want another beer, prospect.”

I got him his beer, but I didn’t comment on his remarks. I didn’t know what I should say. I was just starting to realize I might want something with Tonya if she felt the same way. But I didn’t know if I should say something or wait. Hell, I hadn’t asked a woman out on a date in ten years. Frankie was the last one. Since then, I’d had hookups, not dates.

What if what I was feeling was just boredom? Or was my biological clock ticking like they said women’s clocks did? Was this simply because I was lonely and was tired of going to bed alone? Shit, I didn’t know. If it was, why now and not before?

I stayed away from her table for the rest of the evening. If they needed more drinks, someone would come to the bar to get them. It was almost nine when she got up to leave. I wondered if she was going home to work after putting the kids down. The twins were barely keeping their eyes open. Dylan was passed out in his mother’s arms. Falcon and Soleil went with them. Soleil carried Lara while Falcon carried Daniel and Dena and Tonya had Dylan. I wished it was me helping her to get them home, but I was still on bar duty. That would last until midnight or later.

The next few hours passed slowly. As expected, the bunnies and some women from town came to join the party. I watched as they let loose and the guys started to pair off. There wasn’t a single one who interested me. The club had four bunnies still—Jen, Erin, Lori and a new one, Bebe. The rest had finally moved on, deciding there weren’t enough guys left to get those patches they wanted for so long. They’d been told forever that none of the guys would consider making a bunny his old lady, but they’d held out hope.

I was restocking the fridge from the bigger one in the kitchen when I ran into Bebe. She’d been here four months. I think I was the only one who hadn’t slept with her or had her give me a blow job. I wasn’t certain why. There just was something about her that told me she was bad news. She’d tried more than once to entice me and I always turned her down.

I had my hands full, so I couldn’t prevent her hands from running up my chest. She was staring up at me with a hungry, predatory look in her eyes. She must be hard up if she was going after a prospect instead of a patched member.

“Hey, Law, how’s it going?” she purred.

“Fine. Move, please. I need to get back to the bar with these.” I stepped to the side and walked around her. It didn’t deter her. She latched onto my arm and tried to pull me to a stop, which was ridiculous. I could easily drag her if I wanted. I stopped to give her my best “let me the fuck go” look. She dropped her hand but she didn’t move away from me. I started walking again. She followed me to the bar.

As I put everything away, she sat on one of the barstools and leaned over the bar, her breasts practically falling out of her skimpy top. She licked her lips and gave me what I thought she believed was a sultry look.

“Aw, come on, Law. Why don’t we have a drink together and then when you get done for the night, we can go to your room and let the real fun begin. I’ve been dying to show you how good I can be to you. All you have to do is give me a chance.”

“Bebe, I’ve told you more than once, I’m not interested. That hasn’t changed and it’s not going to change. Stay the hell away from me. If I want a woman, I’m capable of getting laid. If I want more than to get laid, I won’t be picking a woman from the bunnies or hang arounds. I prefer my woman less used by all my friends. No offense.” I didn’t give a damn if I offended her or not, but I threw that in there so I wasn’t a total dick.

She got an ugly scowl on her face. “So, you’re like the rest around here. Only interested in a sweet virgin or some other boring bitch. What is it with you guys? Why would you prefer a woman who doesn’t know how to please you sexually over one who does? I don’t get it. Bikers are supposed to be wild and fun. None of you like to party wild and those with old ladies all turn us down.”

“If you mean we don’t do drugs, then yeah, we don’t party wild. As for the guys with old ladies, that’s not going to change. None of them would ever risk their women for a blow job or piece of ass. Stick to the single guys who want you and leave the rest of us alone. Better yet, why don’t you move on and find another club that’s more to your liking? I wouldn’t bother checking out the Ruthless Marauders, Iron Punishers, our Hunters Creek chapter, or the Pagan Souls. They’re all our friends and they’re the same as us. If committed, they won’t touch you. And I don’t think any of the single ones would make you an old lady.”

She gave me a look that made me thankful it couldn’t kill me, then she hopped down from the stool and marched off in a huff. I heard a chuckle behind me. I turned to find Bandit there. He pointed to Bebe.
