“Okay, you assholes. Settle down. I know it’s not Saturday, but Law couldn’t wait until then for us to talk and make a decision.”

“A decision on what?” Tiny asked. I guessed right. Terror hadn’t informed them of what we were to talk about. Butterflies were fluttering in my stomach.

“Whether or not it’s allowed for a prospect to claim an old lady. We’ve never had anyone who was prospecting ask. Law has some time left in his trial period. However, he doesn’t want to wait to claim Tonya. I can’t say I blame him. None of us waited either.”

This got all the married guys chuckling. He waited until they quieted back down to continue. “Does anyone have an objection to allowing him to do it? If not, would she get a property cut now, or have to wait until he’s patched, assuming he will be? I thought about this a lot today. It made me think of something else. We usually get started on having a house built right away too. Should we let them do that, or again, do they have to wait to see if he gets patched?” Terror asked the table.

Well, it seemed that the house topic would be decided at least from the club’s standpoint now. I sat there trying to breathe naturally and not squirm as the guys all eyed me. I couldn’t tell by their expressions what they were thinking.

After those intense looks, Terror gestured to me. “Law, if you have anything to say to support your case, say it now. After you’re done, you’ll have to wait outside while we talk.”

I stood up. “Thanks, Terror. Alright, all of you know my story. It isn’t a pretty one. I lost the woman I loved eight years ago. I didn’t think I’d ever meet another woman who would make me want to make her mine. Then Tonya moved back here and asked for our help. It was an instant thing for me. I don’t recall exactly how or when it hit me, but it was like a tornado. I know it’s fast and everything, but I can’t see myself with anyone but her. Luckily, it appears she feels the same. I want her claimed as mine so everyone knows it and she has that visible protection. Dan is likely going to continue to be a problem. Having her wear a property cut will show him who he’s messing with, even though it may be a while before she can have one, assuming I get patched in.”

“You’re ready to not only take on an old lady but three small kids who aren’t yours? That’s a lot to deal with. If you get tired of the kids, you can’t just send them home. What if you two have more kids?” Devil Dog asked. I knew he was saying all this to make sure I had thought about the kids. He’d gone through the same thing when he met Ashlee.

“Devil, I’ve thought that through too. I’ve always wanted a family and thought I’d never have one. Those three are a part of Tonya. That alone makes me care for them. However, in the short time I’ve been around them, I’ve found I can easily love them. Sure, we might have kids of our own, but it won’t change how I feel about them or how I treat them.”

“What if we tell you no?” Viper asked.

“Then I have some thinking to do. If it’s just because I’m a prospect, I’ll wait until I get patched. I won’t like it, but I’ll do it. If you say no for some other reason, one that I don’t agree with or will have me not being able to claim her ever, then I won’t stand for it.”

“Does that mean you’ll quit the club?” Voodoo asked quietly. He’d almost done it a while back, but they were able to talk him out of it.

“Yes, that’s what I mean. Tonya is the woman I want to marry and grow old with. I want to raise a family with her. I won’t risk losing the woman I love again.”

They were silent when I got done. No one asked more questions. Seeing that I was done, Terror nodded. Menace got up to open the door. I exited the room and headed to the common room. I’d go wait with Tonya. As I went, I sent up a prayer that they’d say yes.

Tonya: Chapter 10

I tried to focus on what the ladies were talking about, but I couldn’t. All I could think about was what they were saying in church. I was shocked out of my thoughts when Law came back into the common room after being in there for only a short time. I jumped to my feet and rushed over to him. He spread his arms to hug me close when I got to him.

“Did they decide?” I asked in a hurry.

He shook his head no. “No, they’re deliberating. They have a couple things they have to decide on. I told them why I wanted to claim you now. It’s up to them if they’ll allow it. If they will, it will go into the bylaws, I imagine, so if it ever comes up again, they know what to do.”

“What did you tell them?

“I explained how I never thought I’d fall in love again and now that I have, I don’t want to waste a minute. I want everyone to know you’re mine.”

His declaration of love stunned me. We’d talked about our feelings somewhat, but neither of us had said the L-word. I gulped. “D-did you just say that you love me?” I whispered.

He smiled down at me. His arms tightened around me. “My beautiful Valkyrie, I’m so in love with you, I can’t think. I’m not pushing for you to say you love me. I know it’ll take time. I can’t believe I’ve fallen for you this fast, but I know it’s true. I can wait. I love you enough for the both of us.”

I raised on my toes and I kissed him with all the love, passion and happiness I was feeling. It lasted for a while. When we were done, both of us were flushed and panting for air. “Law, I have a confession too. I’m in love with you. I don’t know how you did it, but I am. It’s fast and crazy, but I’ve decided I’m here for the full ride.”

“Thank God. Now, all we need is for them to say yes. Come on, let’s go sit and wait. There’s no use standing here worrying about it. Besides, if we sit, we can play around a little. I want another kiss like the one you just gave me,” he growled. I could see the heat in his eyes, as I let him guide me.

Instead of going back to one of the tables to sit with some of the women, he took me to one of the empty couches. He sat down and pulled me down on his lap. I leaned back and rested my head on his shoulder. He rubbed up and down my arm soothingly. His lips teased mine. I got lost instantly in his kiss. The kids were busy being entertained by a couple of the moms and playing with the kids. Even Dylan was. Several of the club’s kids were around his age. They ranged from ten years old to less than a year. That didn’t include the ones yet to be born.

It was the sound of several heavy steps that finally disturbed us in our little world. It was the guys. I straightened up. We didn’t say a word as we waited to see what they would say. As president, Terror was the one to speak.

“Okay, you two, I think we’ve tortured you enough. After discussing the pros and cons of allowing this claim, we’ve decided that Law will be allowed to claim you as his old lady.” Utter happiness shot through me. I couldn’t wipe the smile off my face.

Terror continued, “We’re not going to make this a blanket thing. It will be a case-by-case decision. If Law had been less than an exemplary prospect so far, we wouldn’t have said yes. You will get a property cut. However, if for some crazy reason, Law messes up and doesn’t get patched in, you’ll have to give it back. We don’t foresee that happening. The last thing we talked about was allowing you to build a house on the compound. We’ve decided again that it will be a case-by-case decision. If you want to start building, you have our blessing. Again, we don’t see Law not patching in, but if he doesn’t, then the house will be there for someone else.”

I almost fell off Law’s lap. I had no idea a house had been discussed. Law hadn’t mentioned it to me. I fought down my curiosity and desire to question him about it, so I could thank the guys. I stood up. Law stood with me.

“Thank you so much. You have no idea how much this means to me. Or how nervous I’ve been all day. I swear you won’t regret it.” I gave Terror a hug which he returned. ‘
